From my perspective I’m interested in what the forum members think of Dunkley demanding that I change a thread title. I'm puzzled that he doesn't seem to understand how an ultimatum works. For an ultimatum to succeed there has to be a demand, and a sanction threatened which will be applied if the person does not accede to the demand, which is likely to be injurious or detrimental to that person. Discontinuance of involvement with the thread would not appear to me to be a sanction likely to be troublesome to anybody.

The Heaviest Scrambled Eggs! The largest pan of scrambled eggs ever cooked weighed around three and a half tons. Fact! You couldn't give a toss about the postmasters who committed suicide over being accused of thefts they hadn't committed? You think Paula Vennells should get away with it? "Ex-Post Office boss Paula Vennells goes to ground amid fallout from IT Horizon scandal as she disappears from her Grade-II listed Bedfordshire home and quits roles at Dunelm, Morrisons and parish priest duties Ordained priest Paula Vennells was last seen at her multi-million pound home in Bedfordshire last Friday She made £4.5million in seven years, got a CBE and had boardroom jobs with Dunelm and Morrisons Mrs Vennells has now quit all her public roles, including with the Church of England after the scandal Calls for her to be investigated as 39 postmasters wrongly convicted of stealing amid flaws of IT system" www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9513081/Ex-Post-Office-boss-Paula-Vennells-goes-ground-amid-scandal.htmlThere will always be fierce debates over whether or not pineapple has any place on a pizza, but there's no question about where the Hawaiian pizza originally came from: Chatham, Ontario, Canada! Restaurant owner Sam Panopoulos was born in Greece but moved to Canada when he was 20 years old. And in 1962, the entrepreneur decided to put pineapple on pizza. Panopoulos, who passed away in 2017, once told the BBC, "We just put it on, just for the fun of it, see how it was going to taste. We were young in the business and we were doing a lot of experiments." The name apparently came from the brand of canned pineapple that Panopoulos used on that fateful day he invented the Hawaiian pizza.

Conspiracy theory - I bet he just adapted the great british recipe of Gammon, pineapple, chips n peas!

On and on and on it rumbles The hooded clouds and darkest of days One little ray of sunshine One glimmer of hope No. There is no hope, no hope………

Incongruous or surprising as it may seem, I just cannot help thinking that there may be some parallels here in the way C&RT habitually now seem to conduct themselves and the scandalous behaviour of the Post Office as recently fully exposed in the Appeal Court when 39 ex sub-postmasters were found to have been wrongly convicted of fraud or false accounting. They had all had their reputations destroyed, personal lives devastated, lost their homes and their livelihoods and in some cases suffered prison sentences. And the appeal judgement revealed that this was the tip of the iceberg – there are hundreds more cases where the convictions will prove to be unsafe for the same reasons. The judges’ detailed remarks show how the Post Office continually lied to those affected, deliberately concealed evidence and behaved in the most appalling manner to convince those accused of theft or false accounting that they had no option but to plead guilty or risk a lengthy prison sentence. The Post Office had taken out private prosecutions against hundreds of sub- postmasters based on the evidence provided by a now proved to be faulty accounting system in circumstances where a police prosecution would have been unlikely to pass the first hurdle which demands that all evidence (not just that favourable to the prosecutor) must be shared. Most of the accused were led to believe that their cases were unique – there was no problem with the system elsewhere – when in fact, hundreds of cases of problems within the system were already well-known to the Post Office but covered up. It became clear during this and an earlier successful appeal that the behaviour of the Post Office was endemic within the organisation and not confined to individual cases. The full Appeal judgement - Hamilton & Ors v Post Office Ltd [2021] EWCA Crim 577 (23 April 2021) (bailii.org) – at about 80 pages and 447 paragraphs – makes for eye-watering and heart-rending reading in parts. How could a (once) respected institution like the Post Office act for over ten-years in such a scurrilous and immoral way without being held to account? In just one of the hundreds of paragraphs analysing the Post Office’s conduct Lord Justice Holroyde had this to say: “We are driven to the conclusion that throughout the period covered by these prosecutions Post Office Limited’s approach to investigation and disclosure was influenced by what was in the interests of POL, rather than by what the law required.”
It happened because the Post Office were, in effect, allowed to ‘make it up as they went along’ and abuse powers granted to them which enabled them to avoid the rigours, checks and safeguards embedded in normal criminal prosecution procedures. Thankfully, due to the long and dedicated persistence of a few brave warriors prepared to make a noise, working against the odds and the financial muscle of the Post Office, these cases were finally properly reviewed and justice done. It isn’t the end of it, of course, there are hundreds more cases and ultimately the taxpayer (you and I) will be left to pick up an enormous bill to try to compensate the victims of the Post Office’s deceit and well said sir absolutely fantastic thanks you for your time arrogance. Whatever the rights and wrongs of Tony’s case (and others of a similar nature which are not yet so well-documented) the possible similarities with the Post Office cases and C&RT’s own apparent conduct in subverting proper legal procedures to their own ends, with potential for denial of justice for individuals, need some proper independent and rigorous investigation. . So true, so true

I've tried to follow this but may have missed something. My summation is that HD was taken on a section 8 notice. Some courts have accepted this as lawful. The 'bailiffs' who carried out the removal were not registered/licensed, but again the Police accepted their validity. The Police are apparently the only legal body who have responded to Tony's allegations and complaints, and have concluded there is no offence. CaRT have maintained that their action is legal throughout and Tony has maintained the opposite. My conclusion is that until Tony initiates some LEGAL action, and it goes to court, then we will be stuck in this limbo. Of course, if it does get to court, and CaRT's case is dodgy, then they will no doubt capitulate so that their ability to act with gay abandon will be maintained. Bang on. And i hope as i suspect most might, that he wins and stops the crt from acting in the dodgy way they do. I just cant see it though. so true again and thanks
