So Sean Connery has died. Not my favourite Bond, but I did enjoy his other roles.

Never liked Bond films ... until the Daniel Craig ones.
Sean Connery was involved in a lot of excellent films ... one I particularly remember well was the Untouchables.

I'm totally the opposite. I really liked the older ones. Once the meathead turned up and the violence was cranked up and excessive CGI it put me off completely.
Roger Moore for me. The perfect English gentleman. A class act.
No 2 Timothy Dalton.
Others were ok but those two the best imo.

I think Daniel Craig was the best bond but his bond films were definitely not the best - OTT in the various ways you describe.

Maybe I am seeing characters rather than actors. I don't see Craig as a good actor because of the films. I can't "get it".

For me its not about which Bond you liked the most but instead which Bond was most like the character imagined by Ian Fleming (obviously Pierce Brosnan). Daniel Craig was never in that mould, he was more of a crook. 'Layer Cake' was a great film.

That's the way I look at it too.
Pierce Brosnan was good but I always thought of the original character being English.
Basics come first for me.
Could be wrong.

As it's a boating forum - - just have to be really sickly/sad and ask - who else has cruised past Daniel Craig's dad's house?!!
