However some of us are aware that during the Argentinian invasion of the Falklands Joe Biden (then a senator) was a very vocal supporter of the UK

I believe that 91 percent of black women who voted chose Biden. The percentage of black men who made the same choice wasn't far behind this. Given this, it will be most interesting to see how Biden deals with the 'black lives matter' movement. It seems that the 'positive discrimination' that already exists in America was insufficient to alay the anger within this group. What might Biden do, special weekly government payment to black people perhaps?

To be fair, in a nation where so many are armed, shootings will always be a common thing. Somewhere in the order of 150 law enforcement officers are killed in the line of duty every year in the USA mostly by gunfire. With that in mind, hair trigger actions are always going to happen.
(This is not in any way excusing bad behaviour by law enforcement)

More years of Trump seemed a Horror Story just waiting to be played out..he is so intense, loud, exhausting. Thats not what is needed in a Pandemic, Black Lives Matter world.
Hopefully Biden will be a figurehead allowing those with the know and means to begin to heal America. However I don't think Trump will go quietly. There is more mud to be thrown, more discord to stir up.

I went to the US once. 1987 with my mum when I was 13. To stay with my aunt who at the time lived in Santa FΓ©. She is English but lived over in New Mexico for a few years. Anyway while we were there the neighbour shot his wife dead. It all seemed pretty normal. Nothing especially exciting about it. I told my girls about it and they occasionally bring it up "Papa, did the neighbour really shoot his wife when you went to America". And I'm like "Yes, it's a true story". And they must be like 'hmmm, that's an interesting solution to a domestic argument.'

Oh... those 'qualifications'. A woman, and a black one. No one else need apply. Not much more than fifty years ago a black person couldn't use toilets, drink from a fountain or ride in the front of a bus in the USA. Today a black woman has been elected vice president of that same country, in a massively supported election. That is historic and commendable, and is being totally over shadowed by Trump's rejection. As I said ... do you need pictures ? What I would like to know, is if she is in her position due to merit and not merely as a 'token'. Can she do the job? If you believe the propaganda pedalled by the 'wokes' then, according to TV ads and the Canal & River Trust ads, every family in the UK is of a mixed race marriage. Look at the black women politicians in the UK - what have they achieved, apart from making their bank balances look very healthy out of public money. See a politician = see a liar. Still, wave those flags, jump and shout, happy, happy happy!

Obama is half European half Kenyan. Took an awfully long time to produce his Birth Certificate, didn't it? Anyone remember? You know, the one that says he was born in the USA. What was he hiding?

I read that Joe seemed to be a fan of the IRAπ‘.Both of them are totally a waste of space.I also read that it was amazing that 2 70+ year olds kept an election going for so long...π Joe Biden pictured with Gerry Adams and IRA fugitive Rita O'Hare.

Do politicians actually need to be able to "do the job" these days?
I mean being realistic the place is basically run by large corporations not politicians.
The main function of a country leader these days seems to either be a stooge or a fall guy. I suspect Johnson is the latter. Bad things will happen and he will go down in history as the one who made them happen.
Being ruled by unelected people has been quite widely validated in recent years.
Gordon Brown?
Chris Whitty?

Still, wave those flags, jump and shout, happy, happy happy! My last attempt to explain ... though why I bother ... The people of the USA have voted for a black woman as vice president. In a country where 50 years ago a black woman couldn't sit at the front of a bus, that is some monumentally historic achievement. I cannot comment on her competence as her term doesn't even begin until January. Her place in history, and the country's development must surely be obvious. Rog
