Which of course I always do. It was nice to see him. Haven't seen him really since last Easter. Even if it was from afar. It is hugely annoying that people point the finger and shout about two people meeting to go for a walk together ... no consideration of whether they stayed apart etc. Rog we will never know the ins and outs of this Rog.
If they were stopped to be questioned by the old Bill and got a bit smart with them .... then that could have been why .... too much lip.
They are free to bleat to the media .... the cops are not so we will probably never hear what the truth was ....... it's all just fake news to keep reporters on the gravy train and giving them a "genuine reason" to gallivant about "just checking a news story"
dogless sorry pressed the send button before I had done anything doh !!!

dogless sorry pressed the send button before I had done anything doh !!! If it was 'fake news' why have the police apologised and the fines been retracted? I think the words 'fake news' and 'conspiricy theory' are sometimes used to deflect denial. There is plenty of video footage on YouTube showing members of the public and the authorities failing to follow the rules. My nephew in law is in the met on the front line, I don't envy his job. In the end, the truth will come out as to whether this only about 'keeping us safe' from a virus, or whether it's also about removing the freedoms so many people died for during the wars.

I’ve seen police harassment up close. Also have several policemen that are friends. Some of them are no angels.

The Met Commisioner is talking about gambling dens being raided, illegal raves being broken up etc. etc.
Government spokespeople are suggesting 80 to 90% compliance with restrictions ... apart from these serious exceptions.
Take-aways and even garden centres are permitted to remain open ...if they didn't want people to go they would have shut them surely !
I resent being strung along and lied to by the media more than the frustration of the virus restrictions.

whether they were over enthusiastic or whether they were provoked, the police officers concerned might wish it to stick but someone further up the food chain was probably being pragmatic.

Technicaly it wasn't fake news. They did go for a walk and they were fined. Just because it was overturned doesn't make it fake.

No it isn't fake news ... not any kind of news really ...it is media misdirection however ... 'making a story' where there really isn't one.
If there are raves being broken up , illegal gambling dens and bars being raided etc. etc. wouldn't they be more 'news worthy' than two ladies meeting for a walk ... or a fat blonde buffoon going cycling for exercise ? If you're cycling for exercise you are of course going to travel some miles but it's social interaction that spreads the virus NOT cycling.
Never mind it'll be, mostly behind us by spring all being well.

Rog On TV this morning, some NIMBY has put up a sign at the entrance to their village “Cyclists, STOP PANTING VIRUSES THROUGH OUR VILLAGE. STAY AWAY”. That’s nice!

It's a fair point to be fair.
I was quite interested to note that in the earlier classic lockdown in France they banned, or at least curfewed, jogging.
People out doing exertive exercise do look like a real problem aerosol-transmission-wise.
At the end of the day this sort of exercise is completely unnecessary and pointless. Nobody needs to do it.
Yes plenty of walking and light exertion is healthy but getting breathless outdoors and panting as if being pursued by a wild beast is not useful to anyone.

Must admit seeing people puff n pant jogging I have wondered whether they can spread the virus more..partic the new variant.. I avoid the prom as its full of joggers and cyclists...let them infect each other.... Freya and I walk the streets atm down all the quiet roads...2 walks a day..early and mid afternoon. I don't particularly enjoy our wanders but one day the sun will shine....

Unless you really are being pursued by a wild beast! Anyway, it’s almost time to stop discussing infection. Time for talk of vaccines and the return of living again. I’ve made the decision today that I will no longer talk about infection. Things are about to improve.
