The statistics suggest the restrictions are slowly working to minimise the spread, and the government continues to be pleased that they estimate 80% to 90 % compliance. For the vast majority of us , as everything's shut, it's difficult to ignore the restrictions. Anyway ... trying to remain positive, the vaccine roll out is thundering on ... 6.5 million first jabs and remaining on track Rog

Fortunately we make the AZ vaccine here otherwise no doubt that would be stopped for their use as well. Bad losers or what, a quick google will get you the details

The important difference between AstraZeneca's relationship with the UK and with the EU, and the reason it has fallen behind schedule on 50m vaccine doses promised to the EU, is that the UK agreed the deal with AZ a full three months before the EU did.
This gave AZ an extra three months to sort out manufacturing and supply problems relating to the UK contract (there were plenty of problems). Here is the important timeline. In May AZ reached agreement with Oxford and the UK government to make and supply the vaccine. In fact Oxford had already started work on the supply chain. The following month AZ reached a preliminary agreement with Germany, the Netherlands, France and Italy, a group known as the Inclusive Vaccine Alliance, based on the agreement with the UK.
The announcement was 13 June. BUT the EU insisted that the Inclusive Vaccine Alliance could not formalise the deal. The European Commission insisted it should take over the contract negotiations on behalf of the whole EU. So were another two months of talks and the contract was not signed till the end of August.
European bureaucracy at its best! I’m glad we are out of it.

The EU vaccine rollout has been an utter shambles, and none of us should gloat about that, but it does demonstrate how, when push comes to shove, sclerotic supranationalism cannot supplant the democratic nation state when it comes to acting in the national interest.
How many people died unnecessarily because the EU intervened, and on top of that, the ignorant bastards are now looking to point blame. Line em up and execute.

Especially as we have the most deaths of any country in Europe.

I can’t be the only one who has evidence of COVID being put on the death certificate when it was not a factor.

I may as well say that I don’t believe we have vaccinated millions then? Pick and choose the numbers to suit your own views. Let’s go excess deaths then? We have the highest figure for that in Europe as well. Anyway, my moods far to good to get Into a negative discussion. After a year of Boris and his f... ups, we got lucky with the vaccination program. That I’m sure we can all agree on.

Wouldn’t be the first time 😊. Which statement was false? I am so often wrong.
