It looks small from a distance but in reality it is very large.

Indeed. I grew up running around the Cerne Abbas giant in the days when you could still sit on the lodestones at Stonhehenge and slide on a tea tray down Badbury Rings. Weren't we lucky?!

I went to Stonehenge for the 1983 free festival. The penultimate one. Hawkwind were headlining. At dawn on Midsummer's Day we watched the Druids performing their ancient ceremony. Unfortunately one of them was William Roche, better known for playing Ken Barlow in "Coronation Street" and their dignified and solemn celebration was rather disrupted by hundreds of stoned and tripping hippies shouting "All right Ken? How's Deirdre?" and "Are you going down the Rover's later?"
