This one looks interesting. Capacitor based apparently. I wonder if it works. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12VCar-Super-Capacitor-Jump-Starter-Emergency-Start-Power-Supply-No-Need-Charger-/174415453949For twice the price of a "let's burn the house down" lithium version it would want to work but also probably be safer. I really like the product description printed on the device. Intrigued to how that would have ended up written that way. Maybe someone is having a little joke. "Battery terminator" seems a little bit inappropriate given its intended use. I also like the subtle implication that an Audi R8 is going to end up with a flat battery.

last time you posted a link to a capacitor power source it turned out to be a lithium battery pack .... are you sure this is somehow different?

I'm going to just keep a small AGM battery in the boot as a backup instead. I've got some "Fullriver" HC14A batteries new ones which have very high CCA rating so that should cover it. The idea of the jump pack is to avoid appearing rude when refusing to use my vehicle to jump start someone else's car I did refuse once saying my alternator had previously been damaged but it does come across as slightly rude.

I've seen more than one instance where a jump start had a negative effect on the tricksy electronics of the 'donor' car. Frankly I'd refuse.
