I can't remember. The kids keep an eye on it. I think it might be 14 now. This latest one is actually quite a nice unit. A Norwegian GRP coastal rowing boat about 16ft or something. Quality item really, imitation clinker style but all of the boat is GRP including the thwarts which is important. £700. That will make a nice floating electric cargo carrying platform for runs to Henley. The floating electric beer drinking platform is really nice but it's a little bit low in the water and does have some issues with carrying anything heavy. I did have some problems with it last year with occasional idiots in larger boats generating waves which would now and then breach the freeboard and as they (idiots) are getting more common I feel a larger unit may be a valid solution for longer trips. "Le fils de pute" (I like giving boats french names) should be afloat next week and hoping to get some pics tomorrow. It's on the hard at the moment. The name needs more thinking about . I did wonder about "pauv' con" too. How about 'Lune Electrique'?

I’d say “More money than sense”might be an appropriate name.

I have a small grapnel-type anchor if you want it.

If it's one of the folding type ones then I will politely decline Martin as I have a very nasty near death memory of one of these where I was entangled in the chain as it went down into the water and only survived because of the incredibly light weight and general uselessness of the anchor.
I believe it was an error on the part of another boater who had read the notices by Thames locks saying "the anchor is your lifeline" and thrown the anchor to me when I looked like I was about to fall in, in lieu of a buoyant ring.
I wasn't, I did, but luckily it was a useless anchor and my life was spared.
Not keen on folding grapnel type anchors.

That's why you are trying to give it away isn't it.
These things occasionally happen with outboard motors as well.

Yes the Bruce anchors are incredibly masculine sounding.
Dulcinea has two of them. One of them was already on the boat and I located another matching one to match the other one.
"Bruce" just sounds good. It gives the impression of being a proper bit of kit and a nice unit.
I'm unsure of the effectiveness without adding some sort of rounded bar somewhere on it to encourage digging in but the name does it for me and that is what matters.

It was cheap (free) and it doesn't attempt to break my fingers so until Rocna are having a sale its staying.

I wonder if it's the same one I was given, then gave to someone else

One of these alternators would make a good mud weight.

Do you think it will generate 1.21 gigawatts as i can't find a plutonium-powered nuclear fission reactor anywhere.
Got to make the vw delorean work somehow.

1.21 gigawatts.
That's quite a lot of power.
400a at 48v nominal is 4x48 which is 8x24 which is 16x12 so that is 160+24* which is 18,400 watts. Let's say 18 kilowatts.
Times 1000 for megawatts times ten again for gigawatts.
So if the math is done right I believe you need a larger vehicle here.
*32 not 24.

I suspect that the gigawatt thing was fictional anyway.
The Scirroco was a reasonably fast car but at the end of the day it was nothing like as slow as a DeLorean so they must have just been making it up !
