I won't be going by boat. good job or else you need to be on some sort of continuous journey. Ho ho ho the joys of being a parent ! The main point being that when the Armageddon does come the last place you want to be is on a boat at least not on inland waterways because everything will be completely fucked really quickly. And I was like "isn't it". Much better to just have yourself and as little to carry as possible. Bearing in mind that the Armageddon is going to be caused by excessively warm temperatures the whole shelter thing is going to get less and less important plus other people's houses will be available on account of them not being hard enough to survive the awful nightmare situation thrust upon them.

I won't be going by boat. Does anybody know how to remove 10 tons of concrete from the bottom of a boat that is taking on water because of a damaged hull? Asking for a friend. Can you publish the replies you got from the MPs you wrote to here? Thanks!

I expect there will be some indication of things to come. Perhaps enough time to sod off and anchor up somewhere in the estuary or further. One thing that struck me about the Essex coast as viewed from the sea is just how quiet and empty it seemed. Somewhere near Foulness (good English name) could work.

Foulness is not a good place to hang about, its a military firing range As JohnV said The Roach is pretty remote with several good anchorages.

Sure enough but after armagideon I think it'll get quiet! Anyway I expect the Roach is, as you say, a possibly better option except it's well-known and popular. Foulness Island - pop. 0!

The Roach runs down the landward side of Foulness Island This is a good anchorage maps.app.goo.gl/XPGv4bDDT3YNWxiD6just inside the entrance also down on the next bend (Horseshoe Corner) where you used to be able to land and go to the pub on Foulness.

I'll have you know I drove to Pitsea once and Broadness.
Gravesend with the blood on the pontoon and the face masks must be memorable.

Not me, i move every 14 days and ensure my boat has a BS cert.. Is that why there was no room on the 2 day Market Bosworth VM mooring as usual this week? Saw Vidar still/yet again in residence Sure it’s 2 day there? I don’t recall seeing a sign.. anyway when they take the online moorings back from the marina I might take note of any restrictions along that stretch, it’s ridiculous how much towpath they have taken now.

anchored in the Roach just in from the Crouch a few times for a quiet night. it's very well protected.
You virtually never see a soul there, The whole of that area is a very strange remote place, even the busiest bits seem isolated.
In non armageddon times Paglesham, usually can moor up on/near the slip and a walk up the the Plough and Sail, funny mix of boaters and townies

I'm getting bored of Bucks on Thames already again.
The woman and kids will be social ally distancing from 23 July until 23 August on the EU mainland so I could either go up River and do shedloads of beer and electric canoe or downstream and do interesting things.
Problem being I am catastrophically unadventurous. I could write stories about amazing unusual adventures but I would never be remotely interested in being involved in them. Just not my bag.
I quite like the idea of doing the Mudway though.
