I'll have you know I drove to Pitsea once and Broadness. Gravesend with the blood on the pontoon and the face masks must be memorable. It was a nice day. Next time you are in the area I'll show you the old ordnance yard, just your cup of strong cider. Heaven forbid we take in the sailing club though.

If you time it right: Down the Thames to Queenborogh on one tide and overnight on the concrete barge, across the Thames and in through Havengore on the next tide, check with the MOD range officer they are not firing😁 then the Roach is your oyster.
There are also some interesting anchorages at the Swale/Medway junction, I say anchorages but you will be dried out for half a tide😎

This is good news as it looks like I have a month off again so may go outward bound. I would like to but I keep temporarily being overtaken by CBA syndrome symptoms. Might be the right year though being 2021. It's one of my "key years" so doing something different to the boring normal is probably appropriate. I would be coming from Teddington and not interested in Limehouse so perhaps go on a buoy at Gravesend. Or Gray's Thurrock yacht club they seem to be friendly. Would have to check boat weight as she is about 16 tonnes so a bit heavier than usual club boats. I think the outer trots are ok and the foreshore looks ok for landing the dinghy.

CRT agrees not to enforce new Terms and Conditions for 14 days June 6, 2021 NBTA Canal & River Trust (CRT) has made an initial response to the NBTA’s Pre-Action Protocol letter of 29th May 2021 challenging some of the new Boat Licence Terms and Conditions. CRT has refused to stay the new Boat Licence Terms and Conditions as we had asked, but has stated instead that it will not enforce the disputed terms until 16th June 2021. This is an extract from the letter from CRT’s solicitors: “…We note that you request a response within 7 days of your letter and that you are prepared to agree to extend the deadline if it is agreed that the introduction of the new Terms and Conditions will be stayed until at least 14 days after a substantive response to your letter. The Pre-Action Protocol for Judicial Review expects that a response should normally be made within 14 days… Our client does not agree to your request that the Terms and Conditions which came into force on 1 June 2021 should be stayed until at least 14 days after our client’s substantive response. However, while it is considering the points raised, our client has confirmed it will not take enforcement action in relation to the specific terms from the Terms and Conditions which are referred to in your letter until it has sent its substantive response to your pre-action letter. For the avoidance of doubt, our client has confirmed it will not take enforcement action in relation to clause 5.1, clause 5.4 and clause 10.10, clause 10.11 until Wednesday 16 June 2021”. We expect to receive a substantive response from CRT on 15th June 2021. Do we know if they got a response on the 15th?

I think they are on their 3rd update of the T&C’s since release a couple of weeks ago. They obviously didn’t bother with any research on laws etc, or perhaps thought they could just invent some new ones. Whatever the outcome, crt and its legal have yet again excelled in making themselves look completely stupid. (As usual).

If you can time your trip to arrive at Thames Barrier at high tide or just before that gives good timings, in a slow (under 6 knts) boat, to arrive at Queenborogh at low tide. Otherwise you will have to break your journey as you said somewhere about Gravesend. Best ask on YBW Thames Forum as to where, as there are several mudway boaters on there who come up to the Thames on a regular basis.

Yes. Oldgit had already offered to help me with the planning although I think he has a slightly faster boat.
Dulcinea is good for 5 or 6 knots but I usually like to go slower and enjoy the scenery.
Top choice is Thurrock yc I reckon.
I was relieved to hear about Hammersmith bridge as that had been a real problem at least in my mind.
If it's bookable that's good. Outward bound it's easy to have a backup plan you just go back to Teddington or Brentford. Boat is on a Gold license which allows the cut ie Brentford or LH if needed and I think that might also mean I can use the non tidal Medway as it's an EA river.

Probably got to be done then.
The floating electric beer drinking platform is too relaxing and tends to keep me upriver but I am allowed to leave it on my mooring so it shouldn't really be a barrier and stop me doing proper boating.

Not me, i move every 14 days and ensure my boat has a BS cert.. Is that why there was no room on the 2 day Market Bosworth VM mooring as usual this week? Saw Vidar still/yet again in residence Went back and checked today, no signs to say two day moorings.. didn't think it was.

Who remembers this from 2 April this year, . . it appears to have missed its intended publishing deadline by one day : -- < www.crowdjustice.com/case/protect-boats-homes/ > Scroll down and click on "Updates", . . nine in all. The latest one will be of special interest to those who donated ! The appeal was introduced to and promoted on Thunderboat by the forum troll who's presently working his way through the alphabet for his forum ID's, . . called himself Bedruthan at the time he was encouraging everyone to contribute towards lining some more useless lawyers pockets by way of this pointless 'no hope' nonsense. He hasn't mentioned anything more about it, . . or how the money raised was completely wasted, . . for a very long time !

He hasn't mentioned anything more about it, . . or how the money raised was all squandered pointlessly, . . for a very long time ! The latest 'update' on the crowdjustice website - number 9 from 19 September 2021 - would be more accurately described as an admission that this latest application for Judicial Review of C&RT's extra-statutory Licence T&C's is effectively over before it ever got started for precisely the same reasons that the previous application for JR of C&RT's attempts to re-write statute failed at first hearing on 19 February 2014, when the presiding Judge held that in the absence of any current Licence T&C's enforcement proceedings before any Court, that "it would be very difficult for the Court to adjudicate the matter in the abstract." Anyway, here's the full lame excuse of an 'update' seeking to justify blowing all the donated cash on a couple of pointless letters to C&RT that have achieved absolutely nothing. The crowdjustice webpages can be found here - < www.crowdjustice.com/case/protect-boats-homes/ > Update 9 -19 September 2021 (to be read bending over forward with legs suitably spaced apart) : -- We are extremely grateful to all the supporters who have made donations to this appeal. There has not been very much to report since the last update at the end of June. The appeal has been paused and may be wound up soon. This will not prevent us opening another appeal to continue the case if we believe this is necessary and appropriate. We have used the remainder of the funds to seek further advice from a senior Barrister regarding Canal & River Trust’s (CRT) response to our second Pre-Action Protocol letter.
Our lawyers Community Law Partnership have also written to CRT asking why it has not implemented its decision to revert to the previous wording of Clause 5.4 in the new terms and Conditions (previously Clause 4.1 in the 2020 version).
We believe that we have reached the limit of what this legal challenge can achieve without an individual claimant who can be added to the case. This is because CRT has made it clear that it will demand the appointment of an individual as an additional claimant as a condition of permission being granted to bring a Judicial Review of the changes to the Boat Licence Terms and Conditions. We are therefore seeking an individual boat dweller (who is eligible for Legal Aid so on a low income) who is willing and able to take on this role.
If you think you might be able to do this, or know someone who may, please contact our lawyers on their Travellers Advice Line 0121 685 8677 (open Monday to Friday 9am to 1pm). Thank you!
