We have left the boat at Union Wharf in the past(usual charges apply) to get a train home ... but weekends tend to be busy due to Canal Time change overs.

Not familiar with that brewery. Oh I see, you mean that in order to compensate for your deep-felt insecurity about your sexuality, you have to be seen to be doing the sorts of things that sweaty beardy butch blokes do? Yes, I get it!Β Some people might even be taken in by itΒ Not sure why you bought sexuality into it... I just think Gin is a rubbish drink.

Market Harborough is ok, nothing much to shout about tbh, we get the train from Corby to MH just for a change of scenery, a few good pubs, loads of twee boutique shops. Chain restaurants and not too much else.
Enough in the way off shopping to keep anyone happy. Handy for the train to get somewhere else though.....
Me? Iβd run the risk of Foxton and hole up in Bridge 61! Moor bottom of the flight opposite side of the canal heading towards Saddington and youβll be a bit less tourist attraction! tons of good walks around there that donβt involve retail therapy.

There is a very good pub called The Beerhouse, last time we were there we took our fish and chips and ate them in the Beerhouse. beerhousemh.square.site/

Even I managed to turn my boat round there without making a real mess of it.... i used to sit for hours at Foxton ..good place to watch the world go by

Loved it their, was easily my most favourite spot on the system. Then, visiting last summer I went in to order some drinks. The owner was masked up like a nuclear scientist. I passed a Β£20 not over to cover the cost of Β£18 odd, and told him to keep the change. I was amazed too watch as he sprayed disinfectant on the note and proceeded to wipe it. I picked up the note and walked out. Wonβt be revisiting whilst he remains in charge.

Think some folk got very scared..experienced similar in local health food shop..turns out she was just terrified... things have settled now..I kept away for ages as I took it personally that she felt we were all walking infections intent on giving her the virus For some folk especially if they lost someone near to them, the Covid experience worse Money 'dirty' and only that piece of plastic acceptable...I'm finding now that some of the smaller shops want to go back to cash transactions

I don't want to pour doubt on your plan, but HAVE you spotted 'Ellis' is heading there later this year? - ergo, it will be closed to boat traffic shortly if not even sooner!
eta, its not until Sept we plan being there so MAKE A RUN FOR IT NOW!
