It looks like I can stop being anonymous now. Yesterday my ex, who has been stalking me online for the last two and a half years, was found guilty of abusing my child and sentenced to 16 years. It is such a relief.

To finally know he's shut away must be a weight lifted. Living in fear is no way to live..hope you can relax and begin to feel safe

That must be a relief and I hope you are feeling happier than for a long while. I take it that he will serve 8 years or was it life with an 16 year tariff.
I hope that you both have support and can move forward and recover from the ordeal.

Everywhere I went online he was there lying and making me look bad. I am so proud of my youngest for being so brave and going to the police.

Thanks Graham, I got lucky and bought a boat that we live on, met another boater and married him and he has been a lifeline for us both. It feels like we can start living now.

Yes the black cloud has been lifted. I am glad that a man managed to make good and is making life happier for you all.

Well at least the horrendous story seems to have a happy ending. Time to start enjoying life, as you say!

That is such great news miscief My first marriage also was quite bad, at 19 thinking everything would change once we were married I married an abusive alcoholic. 5 years later I escaped. I lived many new chapters in my life over the next 13 years; all of which were good some were great, some difficult but still good, then I met my 2nd OH online...ended up moving over to England and marrying him 17 years ago & since then life has been just one big adventure after another; moving & living on the boat being the latest one. I'm quite happy to say after 17 years, he's still my best friend. My advice would be, look at your life as a book, you've just finished this chapter and your now able to start another. Well it works for me anyway
