A swing of 24000 votes to the Liberals after being a safe tory seat for 47 years. Who is sick and tired of Boris and his lying tories then? No doubt the psycophants will be along shortly blaming Kier. Labour voters went tactical to slap Boris, obviously.

Or it could just be that Labour has nothing to offer most voters.

A whopping 622 votes for Labour. Labour are pretty much finished as a political party nowadays, I highly doubt they will win another election in my lifetime.

It's a pity there's not a viable alternative to such an extent that people voted LD, who don't even know what they stand for.

It's a pity there's not a viable alternative to such an extent that people voted LD, who offer absolutely nothing. Doubt there is any better available, so best of a very poor bunch. Liberals plus Greens and Monster Raving Loony will pick up the protest vote but unless a miracle happens and a viable alternative appears, there will be Conservative government for the forseeable future.
Something for you to look forward to Jim, at least it gives you something other than Brexit to moan about for the next couple of decades.

The UK is now little more than a Nazi dictatorship. Matt Hancock says the NHS should deny treating anyone who doesn't want to be 'jabbed' with the experimental 'vaccines'. That's nice. "The scenario shifts often by the hour, as we take into account new rules or arbitrary government decrees that we have to fight against. In some cases what we thought were potential political or strategic alliances have crumbled, as bit by bit we see those around us give in to social rules, enforced imprisonment, mask compliance and coerced jabbery (despite the clear existential dangers). It is not an act of virtue to oppose this Regime’s perverse diktats at every twist and turn, but an act of human necessity – there is no option." Has Hancocks actually said that about NHS treatment refusal?

Has Hancocks actually said that about NHS treatment refusal? "What’s clear from this exchange is that Hancock is an imbecile, but there’s no doubting the barely-veiled threat in that last line: ‘I concur in the broad thrust of the case being made.’ Hancock is trying to say it while simultaneously he is trying not to say it because he knows how badly it will come across if anyone realises what he is actually saying. But he IS saying it. And both his fellow MPs — probably Fox and certainly Leadsom — agree with him: if the NHS is overwhelmed with Covid cases, then the government will feel perfectly within its rights to deny treatment to the voluntarily unvaccinated because, as Leadsom puts it in that stilted, obfuscatory, legalistic way of hers, the government has ‘no duty at all’ to them." www.breitbart.com/europe/2021/06/18/delingpole-no-jab-no-nhs-treatment-suits-me-just-fine/

Has Hancocks actually said that about NHS treatment refusal? He said it in Parliament so Hansard would have a record. In the old days public schools employed a fagging system where the new entry would be required to satisfy the whims of the upper sixth. Hancock is Johnson’s fag and when he ceases to be a useful idiot he will be chucked under a steam roller.

Quote from Boris: "I do not want to go on and on like Thatcher and Blair. I want to get through this Parliament...then head off soon afterwards. I can't wait till I can go back to writing, have fun and make money." NOTE: Think about how being in prison might interfere with that.

Labour are obviously popular with immigrants, single mothers and mongs. All well and good. The problem is, important as these people are, they represent a minority of the voters of Britain. So, in order to be elected, Labour need to appeal to others, a good proportion of the remaining majority. It ought to be obvious to Labour that tactics other than to vilify those who don't agree with their policies, call their morality into question, call them nasty names etc. etc. aren't that likely to result in the recipients of the insults voting for them. So, while Labour probably won't introduce policies that are popular (other than the ever present free money) they might wish to address those who hold different views with a little more respect. It must feel very nice to be so confident that your way is the right way that you can dismiss anyone who thinks differently as being inferior. It warms the cockles of the heart, I'd imagine. Unfortunately for Labour though, you tend to get more support by making friends with people, rather than dismissing them as enemies.
I do hope that Labour can somehow get their act together, and challenge this reactionary, populism led governemnt. A decent first step would be to talk a little less but listen a little more. God gave us two ears and one mouth. If Labour remember this, and interact in proportion of what God gave them, they might finally establish a base from which they can mount a decent election challenge.
