It could be something like small rubbish bins designed for passing walkers being piled up with rubbish, or rowdy dogs. Nobody likes that but it does happen. I feel that assuming everyone hates people who live on boats is basically flawed. I know for a fact that use of local provided small rubbish bins by boaters causes far more discontent than you might think possible. It's only a small thing but it's serious. Another is parking. Yes it's a public road car/van is taxed but it still causes resentment. It's not the living on boats it is other things associated with it which people can do something about by behaving differently. No wonder the locals are distressed if small rubbish bins are piled up with rowdy dogs.

I feel assuming boaters inevitably do anti social things is basically flawed, but there you go. But the point is that SOME (a few) boaters inevitably do antisocial things. And with a reasonable turnover of boats on the mooring, it is inevitable that at some point, an antisocial boater will arrive and eg run his extremely noisy frame generator at midnight, burn plastic chairs on his stove, play loud music and/or shout at his partner in the middle of the night, have a rabid scary and noisy dog that shits everywhere, leave piles of junk and rubbish on the bank etc etc. As always, it is the small minority that spoil it for everyone else. So one can’t be too surprised if the locals, who can’t move when a nuisance boater pitches up, prefer the option of no moorings.

Oh alright then you can. The “One” in “One can’t …” refers to the equivalent of “the man on the Clapham omnibus” ie some kind of reasonable and common-sense viewpoint.

Facetious is one of only two words in the English language with all the vowels in the right order. The other one is Abstemious.

Your uncertainty stems not from being dicksleksick, . . but from the fact that little to nothing of what you say or write is either factual or truthful, . . although every word of it IS eminently forgettable !

What's happened is in my past. I've written it out of me and I do not hate him, in fact his sister and I re-established a school time friendship and contact regularly(obv he doesn't know)..There are still thousands of stored words ..some I've shredded and some I suspect I 'll never really be ready to let go of....kids can sort when I shed my mortal coils and depart this place

I had seen it was going to court. The village nimbys lost! Nobody lost, . . and nobody won ! The Judicial Review was 'stayed' - in other words temporarily halted whilst the local Council reconsiders its position regarding its remarkably C&RT-like attempt to suspend or amend the right to temporarily moor, anywhere, as applicable to any vessel exercising the common law PRN applicable to any navigable river upon which the PRN has not been statutorily extinguished or curtailed.
