I wondered how this all ties in with silly traffic jams.
Surely at some point things like buses and other traffic has priority over people queueueing for fuel. Perhaps some petrol stations are asked to close before they have actually run out simply to clear traffic problems.

I can just imagine the scene.
Silly traffic jam caused by petrol queues.
Man gets out of car to go and berate another man in another car. Forgets that other people will be driving past the line of traffic and gets run over.
Bus driver calls ambulance then gets out of bus and is run over by a police car on another call. Another wound up man in a car gets out and starts beating up the police who call in armed support and 5 people die in the crossfire. One of the stray bullets strikes a fuel pump and the whole petrol station goes up in flames killing approximately 27 people. Several are unaccounted for and there are burning children running around.
Ambulance arrives and attempts are made to calm people down as they now realise all that precious petrol has gone woof.
During the height of the flames a pilot of a long haul airliner on the approach to a runway is distracted and accidentally crashes into another plane. Mercifully a short haul, killing 274 + 147 people plus crew in a fireball which lands on a nearby motorway and destroys 8 cars resulting in the death of 13 people.
You couldn't make it up!
And all because of idiot petrol queues.

You forgot the Martians who misinterpreted the fire as a signal to begin the invasion.

News websites saying still major problems in SE and to be fair the main one on the A40 out of London near hanger lane was cordoned off today so I think it's true there are still some problems.
A little discombobulating and concerns around whether ones red diesel may now be more expensive than before.
I did get a coal order in with CPL who had it all over their website that everything was going to get more expensive so Hurry Up! I was not hurrying but ready to get the coal anyway as it's getting a little parky now. Interested to note they were a day late with scheduled delivery I wonder if that was related to the diesel situation.
