The only time I've been 'allowed' to spend xmas the way I would choose was spent in the 'middle of nowhere' in Patagonia with my future wife. Best xmas ever and if Jo was removed from the memory it would still be my best xmas ever.
For me xmas is to be tolerated and 12th night to be celebrated - it's over so you can't get me doing things I don't enjoy anymore!

I have absolutely no idea ... last Christmas morning I did an oil change. I'm at a loss just WHAT to do for the big day now as I changed the oil and all the filters this morning However, it could get exciting as I noticed a slight oil seepage between the cover and the head.... I'll have to ask Santa for a heavy duty torque set/wrench!

11 years deep sea in the MN got me used to working Christmas and New Year
(in that time there was only one Christmas I got home and that was unexpected, I arrived to find my sister had taken my mother off to the Canaries for Christmas but such is life )
After I left the sea, doing gigs meant that New Years eve was a working day
Will go to my sisters for Christmas day ..... very quiet, just the two of us now.
I sincerely hope you both enjoy a better dinner than the last time ..... Our disaster with the turkey !!! you have a good memory !!!
The steak and chips was very good though

I have spent one xmas alone miles from family, its nothing i would like to repeat again. I really like it. The woman and my amazing "best thing since bread never mind the sliced stuff" children decamp to another country and have a good time with their relatives. I do have some vague family in Englandland but they are pretty pointless and I have no friends anywhere so just disappearing into a quiet place devoid of people is perfect. Happily there is no rain in the forecast and no closed locks on the lovely Thames so a nice boat trip is going to be in order. Have coal will travel.

Christmas Day morning the Wolf and I will walk for as far as we can..I may go up Worms Head or not.. dunno yet... Son leaving early Christmas Day to spend it with his grandfather... apparently he will have a ready meal waiting for him...dunno which particular brand but I guess it'll be better than rations he got in the Marines. Anyway his grandad would otherwise be alone and they get on really well so I'm pleased.
I am due to spend the afternoon with daughter but no turkey just a buffet with wraps etc... I do not wish to spend the whole afternoon up there so my plan is arrive 2 pm .. stay 2 hours and be home before dark with grand son who will then stay overnight with me. Think middle son will only stop couple of hours as well I don't cope with the noise/busyness etc etc. Bin alone too long just like being at home when its getting dark. Thinking if I leave Freya home it'll be calmer.

Iām in the middle of a very busy snooker and darts league schedule. Then Christmas dinner at our house with kids and partners. This after a Christmas Eve party, always fun recovering in time to cook Christmas dinner. Think all the snooker/dart players are trying to get games out of the way before we have to wear masks again. Boxing Day taking the little racing car out for a meet, weather permitting. Then off boating for a week or two. I love Christmas time š I would like to join a darts team, was thinking about having a nose around when we back to treacle... Has Gill said you can?

I know that men are notoriously bad at choosing Christmas presents so here's a handy tip for any of our married male Thunderboaters. ![https://i.imgur.com/DWrLkMS.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/DWrLkMS.jpg)

It wasn't directed at Jeff- I appreciate that you are married but at the end of the day Jeff is still a man and Hoovering falls fairly and squarely into the category of "woman's work".

The dress has a bit of a William Morris look to it. Quite a classy item me thinks.
