Oh dear. And I don't do doctors. Last time I saw a doctor was when I had pneumonia a couple of years ago and I was half dead and it just wouldn't get better. I thought it was viral but it was community acquired bacterial type - the x-rays were quite shocking !!
Anyway I am only 42!! Wtf? I thought hernias were for old gits.
It really played up about a week ago when I moved a couple of 25kg batteries around (not excessively) I was fekked the next day with back and stomach pains. I have done that before being a boat dweller since I was 20 but this was the first time it hit me hard. I am unfit and drink 2x the government recommended beer every day.
I can still pick my children up (4 and 6 y.o) so I think its something to do with lifting on one side. So. Do I see the doctor about it or just deal with it and try not to aggravate it.
Not looking for medical advice BTW as this is just a forum and I wouldn't want to get anyone into trouble.

Have you a lump?...hernia is a protrusion...down the groin..inguinal(common in men) and in your balls..scrotal..then theres abdominal ...the guy who came to attach these huge pipes to direct all this liquid concrete to reinforce my parking area had the biggest abdominal hernia I have ever seen...my builders had to do his job cos he couldn't move these long pipes. They can become strangulated if blood supply cut off..suggest you see doctor..

Thanks.
There is not an obvious protrusion but it feels like something pushing against left side of stomach below ribcage sometimes.
After the battery lifting it was majorly painful the next day and trouble crapping as well like trapped wind. I did think of calling 999 at one point as misses was out with the children. It calmed down after a few hours. perhaps this was a warning sign. It was very painful.

Will approach doctor soon then.
I have spotted about 200kg of lead acid batteries dumped in the cut as the water is clear and I have a scrap man offering 30p a kilo!! Added to my existing 100kg thats nearly £100 but using the grappling iron is going to do me in!!

I got a inguinal a few weeks back. Daft thing is I was a regular gym user (leg pressing silly weights) but got it boating by straining on a lock gate I reckon.
Felt it (lump) and went to docs. He took approx 25 seconds to diagnose it.
Operation sorted it; overnight stay.
In men, the path where your nads drop, is weak and subject to this special type of hernia.
To add - I'm lucky enough to have private health ins.
NHS Doctor - "it may get better" translate = feck off we are skint
Private Doctor = "they never get better" = more like it
