It's a delight to read a thread not liberally plastered with covid or governmental paranoid fantasy ... so I'm happy you posted @nemesis.
For what it's worth, our recommended bread would be Jackson's of Yorkshire wholemeal sliced ... Tesco's sell it but tricky to get anywhere else.

I had several goes at making my own bread but in spite of having received many helpful tips it was ...... not very good.
I was forced to stop trying as the failed results used to go out for the birds, after seeing a duck gobbling down some bits, jump into the water and sink like a stone, I thought it wise to desist before the wrath of the RSPB came down on me
