I'm no fan of Johnson and in fact I've never voted Conservative in my life but the concerning thing to me is that the Tories were elected primarily because Johnson was the leader and so this does come across as a bit of a power grab. If the Conservatives do select an Asian leader, I can't see white Northerners voting for them at the next General Election. It's the system
It's not a presidential system, you don't elect the president on the ballot
It's a party system, you elect the party and the party leader is who you get
It's not new
Think Blair/Brown
I think Vince knows how the system works. He was pointing out that it’s wrong. Obviously many votes are cast on the basis of who is the party leader, rather than the party’s political promises. I had voted Tory all my life until last election. I changed them as I could see the problems that Brexit would cause. Il vote against the Tory’s next chance as well, whoever leads them. They have almost completed f...... up the country. Why would anyone vote them back in?

The public voted unanimously for brexit, whomsoever was in government were obligated to see that process through. All very democratic.

Unanimously would be 100% in favour, I seem to remember it was 52% in favour 48% against, hardly unanimous 🤔

A tiny weeny majority of those who voted, fueled by lies, isn't unanimous. Time for you to do the decent thing and resign.

Now we have a bunch of Boris apologists lying again, so they can get his job and carry on lying. Oh well.. time to go cruising 👍

All politiucal parties Labour, Liberal and Conservative all pushed through joining the bloody thing without a referendum (the referendum was "did we want to stay" after they had burned all the bridges)
I learned to live with the fact that EFTA which morphed into Common Market morphed into EU and is now in the process of morphing into the Fedeation of European States, had changed my world.
It doesn't mean I was happy about it though. I just got on with it.
That's why when given the chance I voted "out"

Unanimously, yes, my bad wrong word. However, a vote was on the cards not because of the tories, but ukip. Anyway, the vote was to leave, end of.

I couldn't help thinking what this pair of virtue-signalling hypocrites did when they needed to go to the toilet. "I don't suppose Hannah really gives a shit about the fact that the National Gallery was founded with the purpose of giving something to the poor & lower middle classes they previously would never have dreamt of - the ability to see great masterpieces of Western art, for free." "Why would she? Her father is an 'environmental consultant', and the family have two homes - one on the west coast of Scotland, plus a five-bedroom house in Kendal. She enjoys travelling to exotic places around the world, including south-east Asia, Australia and the Canary Islands."

OK, so it took 3 experimental 'vaccines' to get it, but he triumphed in the end.

So it's between Sunak and Truss. It's a no-bet for me.

Can’t believe Truss is in the final 2. She came across as plastic and unbelievable. A sort of Theresa May clone, but without the integrity,

I’ve pretty well given up with politics. Pretty obvious that all the contenders were/are in for themselves, they don’t give a toss about the country.
