I am considering economies in these difficult times. The obvious route is to cease paying C&RT's annual fee and also to not pay to renew my BSSC. Can anyone with many years of experience and wisdom see a flaw in the plan? I'm prepared to wait a reasonable time for a response I am prepared to admit it may be a none starter. Rog

You'll get a couple of years before they send you an S8. When it arrives, sell the boat to Jane, then she has a couple of years free. Then sell it back to you, etc.

Bristol's communal 'warm places' for people who can't afford heating bills:
"Bristol City Council announced it was planning to set up 'warm places' across the city to help people who are struggling to pay their energy bills.
The city's mayor Marvin Rees told Radio 4's PM (July 12) that they have been planning 'Welcoming Places' for more than two and a half months. He said: "Looking at our city, where we have ongoing challenges with inequality, we know people are facing a crisis right here, right now.
Mr Rees said 'Welcoming Places' will be a city-wide network of spaces where people can go and be warm. The mayor said they will also be putting things around that such as food, benefits advice or educational support.
"It does feel like a war-time mobilisation, that we will have these places where people can go and they won't have to worry about having their heating on and they can just be warm," he continued. "It will be some of our buildings such as our libraries and we are also talking to schools."
Will people be able to take their pets along with them to keep warm?

Keep it up.

Getting back to the Op. Why not clone somebody else's boat. Find a boat of similar size and layout, paint yours exactly the same and use their CRT number. If you stick to a different part of the network, it's foolproof I tell you. If it does work I shall expect an annual fee to not 'grass you up'.
