tbh.. lots of bullocks are aggressive..I wouldn't go in a field with them brother in law is a cattle man and my sis is not allowed to walk in any fields that has young bullocks in... he's says they are more feral Many moons ago... I used to follow a route between two villages that I'd devised which entirely avoided roads. One part was crossing a field that a herd of cows was pastured in. They were invariably at the top of the field, it being a a fair slope. When the cows saw me they'd start moving toward me, I suppose because they sensed they might be about to get fed or something. It was necessary to run like hell. They'd start off slow but by the time I was getting near to the other side those bastards would be on the gallop. Genuinely scary. footpathmaps.com/#I like looking of new walks..

Although it wasn't a path as such, just tramping across fields the majority of which had no right of way that I was aware of. The first time I did it I was just roughly following a compass bearing.

I know few people who have been knocked over.. our neighbour in Oundle broke her pelvis trying to protect her dog from cattle.. dog was fine. If I ever go where there are cattle I find myself planning escape options!

I now avoid it, likely it would trigger cataplexy with Noreen, me holding her up, immobile, in the path of a charging herd. No thanks, it's bad enough when it happens 3/4 of the way across a busy road.😳

Athy: "This has been a very popular thread, as the fact that it has now passed thirty pages shows, and I suspect that if it closed it would be against the wishes of the majority of participants."
Daniel: "Following review I have decided to lock this thread. If anyone would like to discuss this action, please do so with me directly via PM."

It was an old one I discovered by chance (looking for something else), where 'The Foxes' moving about during one of the 'lockdowns' are being discussed: www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?/topic/109118-responsible-or-irresponsible-tier-3-cruising/page/31/ It's all a bit like when the Russians and Americans were liberating Germany at the end of WW2 and stumbled across the death camps, with the locals all claiming they "knew nuffin' abaaaht it." Sweeping their ridiculous hysteria about 'Covid' under the mat now, in the hope that no-one will remember them reporting their neighbours to the Police... and pretending it was 'the vaccines' that Saved Everybody. Hypocrites' Corner.

Don’t worry Tony, it’s not the thread about getting you reinstated. Daniel hasn’t even bothered to reply to that one. It’s seems you’ve been unanimously rejected by both forums membership. Oh what it’s like to be wanted aye?

Tony can always start his own free (for example) Proboards forum, of which he can be the administrator. It can't be that difficult, can it? www.proboards.com/create-free-forum Look how many there are: www.proboards.com/forum-directory Once word gets around, there could well be people who'd want to join in and have a 'proper boating forum'. But if it's just going to be CRT-bashing, no matter how well-founded that may be, the numbers will be very low, I'd wager.

There's no real point, or need, in starting up another forum at the moment, Ross. Although, as has been shown by today's antics from the remaining resident idiots, . . there's going to be some continuing mindless disruption from them. Thunderboat is now rid of dogless/ Alice, . . the primary source of thread disruption and the well disguised trolling that has brought the forum to its present low, . . and I don't think the remaining mindless idiots will have the staying power, the resolve, or the mental capacity to continue with their nonsense for very long without their self-appointed and remarkably un-inspirational leader. Let's see if Thunderboat can be got back on course again.

I'd start a forum if I were you. Then you can see it's run as you wish, and you can throw any idiots off.
I was thinking today about your 'audience' and 'daily visitors' to Thunderboat ... it's unlikely most really exist ... if they did, I'd have seen them on my 'hits' for my YouTube videos. And I haven't. I mean, some would be curious to click on them and have a look. I would guess 99% of the 'visitors' really are 'bots'.
Thunderboat does have the possibility to keep going, as long as the canals and inland waterways are in use, and people still have the money to do boating.
If Thunderboat was advertised, such as putting adverts in local corner shop windows (not expensive), then new contributors might come along, and they could turn it into anything they like. I think most boaters are just not aware that Thunderboat exists - many don't even know about Canalworld.
But I do not think Thunderboat's rôle is solely as a battering ram for CRT's door for those with grudges with CRT, even though justified. It's a place for discussion on boating issues mainly, and a place where all kinds of other crap can be brought up without the heavy-handed interference of Daniel Hutchinson and his humourless mods.

I'm sure the hundreds of people who regularly phone and email Tony Dunkley with their messages of support would be only too glad of such a forum.
