A couple of historic pictures of Shellfen from her earlier long days on the Fenland waterways. She is a Dutch "Westlander" from 1912, originally bought to carry bulbs to market along the narrow Fen Lodes then purchased by Shell in the 1930s to supply the Middle Level pumping stations with diesel. Thanks a lot for the posting of these nice historical photos of "Shellfen".
Too bad that they didn't check the type of boat, as you've seen in the photos I posted earlier on, there's a big difference between a "Westlander" and a "Kaagenaar".
Peter.

What a fascinating comment. He has a great way of using the English language, it's easy to see that he went to a "proper" school .

For sale in the Netherlands, I don't think much of the inside but € 60.000 isn't a lot of money if the hull is in good condition, and with a brand new engine as bonus.
Plenty of yards around there to get the hull survey done, and repairs if needed.
The only Puffer I still really like very much is the "VIC 32"
Peter.

Thank goodness for the Nick Walkers of this world Yes, I agree thank goodness for the Nick & Rachel Walkers, and not to forget the late Tim Leech who's been one of the engineers on her and did some good work there too.
They saw the potential of the scrap coaster, and bought the boat for peanuts, but look at her now, a real nostalgic smoking beauty

it must be the lack of paper work that is causing the problem with selling the boat. I suppose they wouldn't want to invest more money in having it shortened. I didn't notice the ashtray. I was hard to overlook for me, this big round horrible thing on the table

Well the ashtray doesn't worry me, I've actually spoken to the owner - not very easy to get on with.................. I'm tempted by this one, I have a mooring but Zero experience/knowledge on how to get her over here. Nice delivery job anyone?

I'd go for the Belgium spits if you have a mooring big enough for it.

Seems a bit to good to be true, plus I know absolutely nothing about getting her back here............

Seems a bit to good to be true, plus I know absolutely nothing about getting her back here............ It's cheap because its almost impossible to run such a big boat as a pleasure craft in Europe now. Bargemaster will be along to explain. As for getting it over here, hire a Dutch/Belgium skipper to sail it.

Its a good idea to sail it.
Makes the engine reliability question less important. I just hope it has lee boards or whatever and a boom.
