I tried googling the sailing boat "Dulcibella" but as that was the name of a boat in a popular book its a very common name so did not find anything.
Its a nice boat steel with lots of nice wood details. A bit boxy but overall not a bad craft. Does seem to have very limited accomodation but I expect that's a feature of sailing boats in general.

Pictures of Marjo (not for sale) for peter bargemast to have a look at As promised for bargemast a couple of photos of Marjo from a better angle I'd have to have that cabin off but as the owner also has Izula one of the nicest Luxe motors around according to a reliable source I expect it's not too serious. I do think with that top deck gone it would be a seriously nice looking barge perhaps also put a smaller wheelhouse on there. Great Job Andrew, I don't know how fluent you are in Chinese, but I'll have to say :"Muchos Gratias" (or is that Russian ?). So this one does belong to Jonathan too, it can be handy to have no lack of money, I suppose. I like the raised bollards next to the wheelhouse doors, like on "Izula", that makes the rope handling so much less painful if your back is as bad as mine. The second story is a real eyesore, destroys the looks of the whole barge. Peter.

I suppose if you are going to have a boat like this, you just have to accept the compromise over accomadation.

Yes it looks like it may be a really good sailing boat. I've only sailed for about half an hour in my life in a dinghy (too much agro so I decided to use the seagull instead) but it seems likely that to get easy to handle good sailing you probably need to sacrifice quite a lot of space. Specially if single handed but then if its just one person space is not so important.

De nada señor I did a lot of language training during the early MI5 days. You got the gender of the first word wrong (it's muchAs) and its supposed to be a c not a t in the "gracias". It should be okay to write "muchas graTHias" if being read by an English person so they pronounce it right.

I often make the same sort of mistakes, mixing Chinese and Russian, I didn't do the MI5 language training, which should be quite obvious I think But I'm sure that you still got the general idea of what I was trying to express. Peter.

Thanks for that.
I am tempted to go to Holland (the woman wants rid of me) but as I have small children I think that the fact I would never return would be a bit disturbing.
In ten years time maybe.

Peter. Yes. Not quite sure why there is a quoting problem here. I blame the Chinese hackers.

That's in st Katherine's dock. I must say I thought it was a modern replica when I saw it at Hampton Court earlier this year but on closer inspection it is an old boat. Nice. This is my favourite one. I'll be buying it once my premium bonds do their thing. Yes, I agree, this barge has been among my favourites too since many years, but as it's over 20m, I'm not interested anymore, but wouldn't mind at all to skipper it for it's owner, if he/she's prepared to pay me well . The boat was built at a well known but no longer existing yard named "Hellemans" in Belgium at Boom which is close to Antwerpen, where there were many yards at the time that were building Freycinet size barges, and a few shorter ones. Peter.

Yes I thought that, but I do like them. Makes the one on eBay for £5800 look very cheap, I wonder what's wrong with it
