Sold Gaz, but who to and where she lies now, I know not. Looks a lot bigger than 19ft in that picture. Interesting picture in as much as who took it. Was it me from the Heron or someone else? Are the grands mine or a combination of mine and Steves?

I think I would have remembered the engine, Gardner 4l2's are my favourite engines.
Me, I would go for a pair of 6LW's as fitted in a 45ft RN picket boat.

I think this boat is a bargain as well. I like Tom Colvins designs, so it's a well designed boat. As I said if it was fitted with a junk rig it would be ideal for me. Unfortunately I have a boat and no money,(the two are connected.) so I won't be buying the boat. But I think it's a good buy for someone. If everybody was honest with themselves they'd all have junk rigs, they loose a little to windward but are excellent in most other areas. www.pbo.co.uk/seamanship/bermudan-rig-vs-junk-rig-17481They are particularly good for a single handed sailor - as my Grandad most often was (a clutch of grandchildren as occasional crew don't count) I wonder what became of Merdaka mouse ? Look like. Great fun gazza

That is on my Grandad's mooring on the Exe, he sailed with the Exe Sailing Club. In the Background is the London to Penzance railway, Dawlish is not far - where Brunel failed to get his Atmospheric railway to work mouse would often drag the Heron down for a mess about. Used to get through Seagull shear pins on the stony beach if I remember right

I'm guessing you in the Heron - Steve, Grandad and three kids in his little dinghy would have been a big ask!

I vaguely remember a trip up river towards Exciter, itβs 30 odd years ago now though!

Still got the Heron, but she hasn't moved out of a farm shed in 25 years!

Still got the Heron, but she hasn't moved out of a farm shed in 25 years! Not quite that long, it was delivered to Broadland behind the Capri by me and the mad Irishman - 98/99? Still too long for it not to see any action. And before you ask, NO! π¨π¨π¨πΏ

Price seems optimistic. Looks like it could do a job of work but its not one of those pretty tugs which make good pleasure boat conversions. Its a bit boxy. Might be OK to pull the JohnV barge slowly and keep it from whacking cruisers or wiping out willow trees I suppose
