Not a bad little boat that. The "new barrel will be needed for engine" seems to be the ignition switch so all appears well just needs a good tidy up.

vital Spark is that the one which was on telly years ago? No. The one for sale is/was the Eileen Easdale. She's a diesel engined puffer. The original series used the Sitka, which was broken up soon after the series was fimed. The second series used Auld Reekie, (VIC27) which was a bit dilapidated by them, but which I think is under restoration. Last time I saw her was quite a few years ago, at Crinan, when she was basically a hull, with wheelhouse removed.

Yeah, @someboater , step away from the buy it now button - you have a young family to think about. Buy Now? £1200 ? No way José Would be quite an interesting project for £350 but you'd have to be very keen to pay much more for it I believe. £350 to kill yourself afloat?! (well, briefly afloat 🙏🧐) kris idea 💡 is better - You wouldn’t want to crash it but that said I’ve never wanted to crash any of my vehicles so that argument doesn’t really go against it!

Im not convinced- it’s Not difficult to energise a starter an old clanker like that - screwdriver across the solenoid is all that’s needed. new barrel for engine could well be code for its shagged and needs a new cylinder!

I was thinking of electric conversion with the intention to go slowly Ballast it down a bit, "paint it black", stick electric drive in there, recaro seat, electric actuator for the lid, beer can holder, extra beer can holder. Would make a superb all-weather relaxation vessel.

That's what I assumed initially (liner) but its a twin and they say they have not run it up.

I’d still go preparing for the worst but hoping for the best if I were interested in it - which thankfully I’m not 🙈

At one time I would have gone for that. However it has the same inherent problem as the Dawncraft, high gunnels, a problem for old hips. Though I have since seen one with a cut out into the cockpit, something I had thought of doing.

The interior woodwork would have been lovely. Mix of canal water diesrl and engine oil won't have done it much good.
I wonder how the leg has faired being submerged - as long as it wasn't under too long the Perky would stand it if it was drained of water - refilled with oil and got going sharpish.

Looks like a Lincoln size Humber Keel, everything that's visible looks quite good, if the barge is in the same condition under the waterline, then her owner has a nice boat to be proud of, and that still looks very original and un-touched.
