I'd rather have shafts, if push comes to shove, even a ham fisted mechanical bodger like me can make any bits needed

And prob best to wait until your garden free before you find another...... Thats just it Patty, i would of dropped on the Lancaster and dragged it to my mooring as it will fit a 35 footer on it Got a bigger mooring just incase than i need always thinking ahead Only prob i cold see there is the draft, the mooring would need basting out a bit as there is a foot or so of silt close in. And the canal is shallow in general. Its got a pair of Enfield egg whisk -Thank heavens for that, I'll let you have it seeing as its not on shafts ππ Yes but still, what a deal, and better than outboard, next step up lol. i would even fit/build my own prop set up at that price if i could, still have the engines to use. Anyway i fancy a rear cabin boat after all that lol.

Years ago we used to take the caravan to the site by the canal bridge near Winmarleigh, my Dad was a keen time trial cyclist, events held on the A6. Rarely saw a sewer tube but there were cruisers aplenty up and down every weekend, a good few Seamasters, they must have been as big as that Princess. Part of my boating life started there, a 1 man campari dinghy, then a plywood canoe I made myself. Had first go at the helm of a small wooden cruiser, another lad's Dad owned it. It was a wheel and rope system with the direction wrong/reversed.

Just woke up, as I was dreaming again that I could buy this boat, which definitely is one with lots of potential. I've been on one like this that former friends had built for them in the UK, they fitted the boat out themselfs, and extensively travelled through Europa on her. On the website it said that the boat is now in Scotland. It will be interesting to see for what sort of money she'll go, but I won't be the buyer, still quite a few other much more urgent jobs to finish first. Peter.

at that sort of price, even if you have to go over every weld, inch by inch it is still a fantastic buy

I agree it will be interesting to see what price it goes for.

The one i linked to sold now for a good price, i think Β£850. A lot of folk dont like them as self build from plans, maybe why they are cheap, not that it would bother me, as John says, just go over the welds if need be. Shame i cant get one on my mooring otherwise i would have one.

at that sort of price, even if you have to go over every weld, inch by inch it is still a fantastic buy This is what's written in the ad John: " Its a bare hull and superstructure professionally built by a boatyard", so the welding should be good (one hopes ). Peter.

Professionally welded apparently so should be no need to go over all the welds. then in that case it's an even better buy than I thought no no no no no no no no no no It should be made illegal to put up ads like that, as they are much too tempting, as we have different reasons for not getting into troubles with ourselfs, for trying to keep these boat off our wish-lists . Peter.
