They do seem to be getting rarer, I think lots of people must be burning them.

Not very effective during winter in the northern hemisphere, especially at night.

Fusion reactor, obviously. Too big, just a big lump of very hot nuclear waste in a lead jacket I don’t think lead is used in fusion reactors? And not much waste, what waste there is isn’t very “hot”. Yes they are a bit big, but then so was a computer when they were first invented. Size of a large room. But now there is massively more computing power in a smartphone chip a few mm across. I’ll wait for the pocket sized version.

There is quite a wide range of wood at the estate. One has some oriental plane trees which shed branches with gay abandon. Nice firewood. Also beech, ash, horse chestnut, poplar, lime, hawthorn etc.
Ash is good but I actually think if I could have just one and it was bone dry I'd go for hawthorn. It chucks the heat out lovely and has a nice flame picture.
Maple nice as well. In fact they arrr all rather pleasant provided they are dry.
With all the climate nonsense it won't be long before wood fires are banned completely.
End of the road for house coal next year.
