I still haven't had this visit off the Police. Maybe they got the wrong boat. Maybe they got the wrong canal?

< www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?/topic/117290-image-for-identification/ > The above linked to photo dates back to November 1959, and was taken from the bridge, looking North, at the bottom of Audlem. It was posted yesterday on CWDF, asking the location, and the location correctly identified, . . apart from one prat who was convinced that it was taken from on top of the last bridge on Braunston Summit and looking towards the top of Buckby. Can anyone spot and name the clinchers that put the location of the photo beyond any shadow of doubt, . . and rule out any possibility of it having been taken anywhere on the (Grand) Junction ? Well, . . obviously, none of the resident halfwits can. Are there any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions from anyone with at least some basic powers of observation, along with a smattering of historic canal boating knowledge, . . and a brain cell count not limited to single figures ?

Bloke standing on top of butty cabin indicating he has just reboarded having exited a lock.
Rising ground on the right of the picture indicating approach to a flight of locks.

The telegraph poles/lines along the towpath of the Shroppie give it away, as does the reinforced "shelf" opposite the winding hole. Oh - and the freshly washed laundry - they've just passed a waterpoint

Did you notice he never said anyone was wrong on Catchphrase?
It was always "you're not right".

I don't recall ever watching it.

I used to religiously watch it back in the good old days.
The quality was amazing.

Well, . . obviously, none of the resident halfwits can. Ah. Self deprecation. Quite an admirable characteristic if used in the correct context. I see you have no answers to your own questions.

The argumentative old twat must be driving himself apoplectic, reading a forum he can't comment on, having to beg gutless microbes to act for him. If only Mr Jekyll could restrain Mr Hyde.

Did you notice he never said anyone was wrong on Catchphrase? It was always "you're not right". I remember he always said "It's goood, but it's not the right answer". Well, it's not good then, is it?
