This does seem to be a significant issue.
To have one's boat breached and stripped could be deemed unfortunate but to have it taken away seems more like a lack of awareness.
I've seen that boat and quite liked the garden arrangement but if you are leaving the boat for months it wants to be on a proper mooring not just the towpath.
Maybe it was in a marina?
Boats do get nicked from marinas now and then. I was the person who found and reported a boat which had been nicked from Harefield a number of yars ago.

You see quite a lot of posts like it on London boaters FB group. “I’ve been to (insert tropical destination of your choosing,) my boats no where I left it. Has anybody seen it?” Etc etc etc. I think owning a narrowboat and living on the London waterways has become like a rights of passage for trustafarians. Along with the gap year, if you have a gap year abroad whilst leaving your boat on the towpath even better. Of course there are still the old school boaters of numerous flavors, but they are getting lost amongst the affluent people flocking to the cut. I blame yourself and Robbie Cummins for the problem. I’ll certainly be having words with Robbie when I go for a pint with him again.

I am definitely guilty of making living on boats look like a Good Idea.
Nothing like a disorganised incompetent deadhead to get the masses engaged!
Same with the magnets. I remember when I wss the only person who even knew what a Neodymium magnet was and had a really big one.
Now they're all at it!
Christ!

Back onto topic, The sooner C&RT do licenses banded by total boat area, get rid of electric / historic boat reductions, put more money into enforcement to clear the network of the plague of entitled Continuous moorers and other such piss takers, plus issue 1 month maximum in any 12 month access to prime honeypot areas like London, as part of the license the better I say. What no BOLD. Losing your touch lad.

Any success with the magnet? It wasn't the boat it was the incredible good looks, positive attitude, general fitness and wellbeing. Good prospects. And also the money. They all think I'm a millionaire. It just happens like that due to family background where they all had shit loads of cash but fucked it all up and lost it. The most significant fellow being one J G Bennett's old man. One of my ancestors from yars ago. "In 1912, his father, who was a noted traveller, adventurer and linguist, lost all of his money and his wife's in an investment that failed." Never mind dear. Mother's uncle. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_G._BennettIn the end he gave away Coombe Springs in Kingston on Thames as a charitable move and the blighters redeveloped it for housing! Shocking really. One does not wish to engage with the idea there are plebs living there. Its too much.

I thought I had haemorrhoids but it turned out to be brain cancer. You'll have a job finding an NHS doctor who can speak English these days.

So to get back on topic. The survey is closed now, so I hope everybody filled it in. We will have to wait and see the outcome, but it’s pretty obvious crt had already decided on their policy. It will lead to more direct confrontation with boaters groups. I think this will be looked back on as the point in time that support for crt dwindles away.

I did.
It was mutiple choice questions with "fuck 'em" as one of the options. I opted to tell them to fuck 'em all and also added verbiage to the boxes.
