Nail gun with an extra long discharge tube can work. Use surface piercing nails to catch the blighters unaware. We have developed drawing pin nets but it will be a number of yars before they are available on the internet. That all sounds a bit too "Q" ( or do I mean "M"?) for an ancient narrowboat to install and/or deploy.

Harrumph! As a responsible inflatable paddle board (never bored) and a boater.... Licence, insurance and permission are covered by membership of BCU. In the region of £40 pa. It displaces .15cum My boat displaces about 10cum for £850, so pro rata my paddle board is overcharged. If whingers and whiners want to whinge and whine then pay comparative dues. Also no need to display a number, afaik there used to be a requirement but it was just a tiny sticker. kris, open your windows, that will keep them away.

From BCU "Just make sure you have your membership card with you when out paddling as you may be required to show it to Navigation Officials." Or officious boaters. When are you going to pay pro rata...?

When was the requirement to display a number stopped? sometime in the past 20 year. It used to be a requirement when I was a member years back, not when I rejoined last year. The old sticker wouldn't have been visible from any distance anyway. I have loaded my member card onto my phone.

Part of the reason my canoe has a motor was because I became paddle-bored.
