Or even the connection between a ex-public school buffoon running the country and having voted for him. I didn't vote for him. The last time I voted was in 2017 and that was for UKIP. I've only voted three times in my life and the other two were for Labour, before they became Tory clones.

Please describe the symptoms you experience when you feel everyone is talking about you.

I am sad sometimes that I am no longer on the electoral register and to therefore have sacrificed my right to vote.
I am ashamed when I remember how very many brave men and women fought and died for me to have that right and sacrificed a hell of a lot more.
I am even more ashamed when I see what that right to vote no longer means....
... or worse - what it gives to the "entitled".

But if you feel disenfranchised I guess it's a different matter. Incidentally, most of the brave men and women died fighting for the guy standing next to him (or her) and because they were told to and the alternative didn't bear consideration; the notion that everyone was highly ideologically motivated is a false narrative.

Exactly. I like to think I understand, that I know - I read a lot. I've lived a lot. Still makes me feel a bit ashamed that our lives are so very selfish in comparison.

Don't change horses in mid stream. I have a nasty feeling the tories will get back in. It could happen. But the economy will be on its arse in 2024 and that's usually when the electorate goes for a landslide.

Personally I don't much like them. But you should feel grateful and possibly guilty that you get to live your life exactly as you please; most of the world has no such luxury. This is as much a result of geography as it is politics 'by another means'.

I really do value my freedom and the right to live as I choose, remembering every morning "make someone smile and your day has not been wasted".

It seems more than a few people around here could do with a holiday.

Could someone pass me a bucket please? Only if you promise to wear it over your head, a steel bucket should restrain the sarky comments.
