I've been getting excited about a MS880. You don’t fancy the one in this thread then. I mean it’s a stihl?

It’s not electric? The one in your video.

I was referring to the one in your link.
The MS881 is a petrol saw which Stihl DO know how to make.

I detect some problems with Stihl battery saws which may be due to them being in a hurry whereas Makita have been making battery tools since god was a boy.

I’m sure the battery in the small one won’t last long.

The little Makita 254 is amazing for small stuff. Depends what you want to cut. Battery lasts enough time and prevents one getting carried away and creating mountains of firewood/increasing chance of accidents.
I noticed Makita also do a 14 inch bar 18v chainsaw with a brushless motor and a reduction gear. It has 7.7m/s rather than 24 m/s chain speed of the 254 which must make it slow but a lot more stalling torque. Also 14 inch rather than 10 inch bar. About the same power 610w v 570w for the 254.
It could well be a better machine for bigger logs. Oddly there are no reviews of it. I don't know if it is very recent or if nobody ever bought one.
Does look interesting Makita DUC357.
I'm tempted to have both.
