I can’t really believe anyone thinks the cyber truck looks good. Ford and rivian have stole elons thunder. They brought their pickup trucks to market first.
It is terrible. I like unusual things but this one just looks like a pile of shite. I'm convinced they will only make a few of these. Same with the semi truck.
What Tesla seem to be good at is providing for wealthy people who can drop 50 grand on an electric car to help them think they are saving the planet while buying their organic fine beans from Waitrose which have been flown in from Africa.
Its just bullshit isn't it.
Unless and until the price of electric cars comes down to a sensibe level its too exclusive and for poseurs and other types of idiots.
I definately think the cyber truck is aimed at poseurs and idiots. It isn’t even visually appealing. I quite like the electric pickups from canoo. But it’s a start up that is just losing money at the moment. So you buy a car off them and then they go belly up, your fucked and may as well have just burnt the money.

One wonders if they will exceed the DeLorean production. But Delorean was a full on scam. They got uk goverment money to start the company and then imported cocaine. If it hadn’t been featured in back to the future, most people would have never heard of it. A bit twisted, young Kris. DeLorean genuinely wanted the company to succeed. The cocaine episode was a stitch-up. Colin Chapman (Lotus) did a good job of scamming what resources were there. To be sure, without the film the car would be a mere footnote in history by now.

So he didn’t import cocaine then?

So he didn’t import cocaine then? No, but there was a 'deal' which turned out to be an FBI sting. DeLorean was acquitted on all counts at trial.

DeLoreans are quite cool. Crap cars and very slow but they sort of have that slightly cool air about them. Maybe it is just the film but the stainless thing is quite interesting as well.

I feel a major problem for Tesla is if they are the 'cutting edge' then they are going to need to constant sharpening. It seems most likely they will end up a niche brand after a while and second hand values will drop fast because of the closed shop spare parts situation.
Also a model 3 is in insurance group 50. Insurance groups only go to 50. There is something not right about this when the equivalent vehicle from Hyundai with same perfornance is in group 36.
There is an exclusive 'club' mentality for the Tesla. Fair enough if they are a premium brand just don't pretend they are something else.
One of the things they do which is actually a bit rude is install all sorts of clever software driven things then when something goes wrong with it there is an 'over the air update' which basically just removes the functionality which the customer has already paid for.
What happens when they just withdraw support for the software like Windows always do?

They charge monthly subscription for some features? Elon has definately taken the Microsoft business model and applied it to cars.

When DeLorean ran into funding issues, the backers started making decisions including the choice of engine. Despite knowing the engine (PRV) was a lemon he was forced to accept it along with the deletion of a bunch of stuff considered luxury and cutting-edge type ting. However they reportedly handle quite well. The stainless element is only skin-deep, and the more conventional chassis config is a result of the aforementioned cost-cutting. Some people in the USA re-engined one using a V6 from a Kia people-carrier type thing and added twin turbos. So nearly 400 bhp; the modifications were extensive. It looked standard from the outside which was very cool. Twats make them into clones of the movie car. This sucks but the Americans like that sort of thing. I like them but I'd never want one to own. I would like a Bond Bug though.

Bond Bug is wicked. One of my all time dream cars. If I had another life where I lived in a house with a garage there would be a Bond Bug in it.

One does have to laugh about these jokers. "As found in Tesla’s terms and conditions for some recent Model 3 and Model Y purchases, the automaker says Cybertruck buyers will be required to avoid selling the vehicle for up to a year following its delivery date. The clause has been spotted by multiple parties in the terms and conditions for other vehicle purchases, as listed under a section entitled “For Cybertruck Only.” "If Cybertruck owners wish to sell their vehicles within the first year following delivery, they must first notify Tesla in writing to gain an exception from the no-reseller policy, in which case they can sell it back to the automaker. If Tesla declines, then sellers may be able to receive written consent from the automaker to resell the Cybertruck to other third parties." Crazy nutters trying to control what people do with the car after buying it. Policy dropped but it shows how cunty they are. All bollocks isn't it www.teslarati.com/tesla-removes-cybertruck-resale-policy/At some point people are going to work it out and shun Tesla because they are too much of a scam company.

Blatant scam isn't it.
Its sad in a way because electric cars are a Good Thing. It would be a shame if an awful conman were to set them back through trust issues.
I've watched some of the videos of the Musk bloke and all I can see is someone thinking 'How long can I get away with this bullshitting for?'

He does seem to be full of shit. It would be quite funny to see him and Zuckerberg have a fight. Shame they will never do it.
