It is vaporware.
With other car makers catching up fast the key is Brand Awareness.
This thing will never be mass produced. A few will be made but at the end of the day it is a marketing gimmick.
Clever but does anyone really think if you have a million people putting down a $100 refundable deposit this translates to sales / demand?
Don't be silly.
Its a nonsense heap of crap but great for brand awareness.

One wonders if they will exceed the DeLorean production.

One wonders if they will exceed the DeLorean production. But Delorean was a full on scam. They got uk goverment money to start the company and then imported cocaine. If it hadn’t been featured in back to the future, most people would have never heard of it.

I can’t really believe anyone thinks the cyber truck looks good. Ford and rivian have stole elons thunder. They brought their pickup trucks to market first.

Yes it is curious that a Tesla car has not as far as I am aware turned up in any films.
I wonder when Mr Bond will get an electric car.

It is terrible. I like unusual things but this one just looks like a pile of shite. I'm convinced they will only make a few of these. Same with the semi truck.
What Tesla seem to be good at is providing for wealthy people who can drop 50 grand on an electric car to help them think they are saving the planet while buying their organic fine beans from Waitrose which have been flown in from Africa.
Its just bullshit isn't it.
Unless and until the price of electric cars comes down to a sensibe level its too exclusive and for poseurs and other types of idiots.

Yes it is curious when you consider elons liking of publicity. Elon seems to have lost a lot of credibility over the whole twitter shit show.

It is odd but then everyone knows that Tesla and the Starlink thing is a short term money generating strategy to help fun the rockets. When Tesla ends up being a small niche brand of electric car it doesn't matter. For now the word is hype and the money is there either from shareholders or people buying the things. That could change very quickly.
There will be plenty of insider dealing going on with this. Hype the share price up get retail investors in then pick their pockets. It isn't rocket science and everyone is awfully excited about electric cars.
"Battery day", "delivery events" its all a show.
Con man.
It just happens that at the moment people are getting agitated about climate change so you can sell them new cars which are going to save the world. Its quite funny in a way how effective this is.
Electric cars are just an inevitable technological change which was always going to happen. Like mobile phones things get more sophisticated. Its nothing new and nothing special or clever.
