Apparently there are no publically available elsans working in London. Remind me again how many people crt say live on boats in London? This has got to be an environmental health hazard? Surely the environmental health depts of the relevant councils have to step in at some stage stage. Preferably before the London canals become the source of a cholera outbreak.

Elsan at Little Venice not showing on stoppage list (haven't checked other locations). Where did this info come from? (elsans for boaters should not be available to the general public...)

Not sure/aware of the London situation, kris , but I have to agree about the environmental health issue with the general lack of elsan facilities throughout the network. I have just travelled through 15 miles and 19 locks to reach my next elsan point. It was a bit chilly but I made it - only to find two boats moored on the waterpoints!

I've answered your question, will you answer mine.
Where did this info come from?

London boaters. Now fuck off with your pedantry. So if one elsan is open for the whole of London, do you think that is acceptable?

Elsan at Old Ford Lock is available for use (if you believe CRT stoppages), the whinge seems to be about the elsan at Stonebridge. It happens from time to time. Campaign for more elsans, don't make up stuff about 'no elsans'.

Another elsan within 2.5 hrs cruising time when one fails - London boaters should consider themselves lucky....

And most people have a spare cassette or two don’t they? 15 miles and 19 locks is less than 2 days cruising, ok maybe 3 for a single hander in winter. So it doesn’t seem much of an issue to me.

It’s funny how you don’t post for a while. Then you post being critical of someone you have had issues with in the past?

Ropes often don't defrost until midday... Dark not long after...Liftbridges take a while to bowhaul through on your own. Shopping for food often a fair way off... Yes, it's no big deal...
