Happy solstice one and all. It happened at 3 o’clock this morning. So that’s it, the light has entered the darkness. The year has turned the shortest day has passed. The darkest part of the year has gone. The days are getting longer. The new light and new year are upon on us. Last year was the worst I’ve had for a long while so I’m hoping for a better new year for me and everyone one on thunderboat. Regards kris.

Just to mirror the thoughts of Kris.
Season's greetings to all. May the light in your lives overtake the darkness.

Yes thankfully the worst is over and Spring is approaching. I always get gliding withdrawal symptoms at this time of year since even though I might go to the club, usually the weather is crap. My last flight in the ASH was end of October at Portmoak, captured here by someone who went on to explain that the wings bend. No shit! Winch launch which ended up with us at 18,000’. Bring on next spring!

So -thats- why I was awake between 2 and 5 this morning for no apparent reason.
I did wonder as am not a serial insomniac.
Seasons greetings to all. Its a shame the christians / salesmen annexed this time of the yar but there we are.
Such is life.
My family members have disappeared into the depths of De La France for a couple of weeks leaving me to disappear to the depths of the pleasure garden at the country estate and contemplate how 2024 could be a better one.
2023 has been marred a little by the irritation of not knowing if I'm getting the £300k cash legacy. I also fell into the state benefit trap which was never my intention. I was supposed to get the legacy in December 2019...
It is annoying because I was told by the dead person that I would be getting but did not record the conversation.
So 2024 will be interesting in this regard also looks like I may finally escape the inner city ditch full of dead cats and dead coots and head into the sunset on a sloop.

I hope it works out how you'd wish ... going to be an interesting year full of all manner of possibilities.
We intend to be back on board by mid January ... home for a family wedding in April and then London mid June.
Hope the new year brings good health to everyone.

Oh yes the elf.
Thats the main thing isn't it.
The money would be good because I am so aloof and far away from societal norms it is farcical.
On the other hand nothing matters anyway.

Well I’m having a good solstice. I do like Jamesons with good company, had a few hours horizontal and now back up and at it again. Unfortunately no more jamesons until I get to the shop again. It’s too nasty out side for that today. Looks like it’s port or ginger wine tonight. It’s all medicinal of course. I hope this next year is better than the last, I’ve f it Carrys on this way it should be. I wish a healthy and prosperous new year to all Thunderboat crew even the trolls and lurkers.
