He's acting like he's paid cash for it. Bet it's leased. Anyone know how he "earns" his money? Sorry chap, paid for with cash. Have you ever worked out how much a week it depreciates? I'd be guessing around £130.

I got a message from the DwP saying they are going to investigate me for fraud. Quacking in my boots. I hid the money so well they will never find it. we’ve not heard from Martin for a while. I wonder if he’s in a witness protection programme?

Actually I was joking about the fraud. They in fact sent me a message asking if I was interested in working in the security industry.
I guess this means supermarket bouncer or something.

Have you ever worked out how much a week it depreciates? I'd be guessing around £130. Who cares? I'll trade it in for a new one. 🙂 It's always a good idea to get rid of a Mercedes as soon as it's out of warranty. I drive a Mercedes Benz truck at work and Mercedes trucks and cars have pretty much the same issues and ludicrous repair costs. There was a time when almost every taxi in Africa was an exported Mercedes Benz 250 or similar from Europe but Mercedes became so unreliable after about 1980 that they use Japanese cars nowadays. As for trucks, I keep telling the boss that he should buy Volvos but he just can't take a longer term view. He'd sooner save a couple of grand on the purchase price and spend ten times as much on repairs.

I’ve had a couple a 250 TD and a 230 TE both lovely cars with real leather and wooden interiors and both where from before 92-93 when they ruined them. I really liked them from about 85-86 until as I say about 92-93. Real mercs. I always liked going wooding and water runs in a nice flash merc. Unfortunately at the time I used to buy cars and run them into the ground. Some of these older mercs get good money now adays. Especially the higher specced ones.

Some if the late 80s Mercs were alright.
The old man had a 1973 280CE pillarless coupé to go with our large country house. That was a nice motor. Also a BMW 1602. Smaller but quite nippy. That was a P reg. This was in addition to the family Daihatsu 4x4 and the obligatory Volvo 244.
We had 3 garages and a large courtyard area.

Best car I ever drove was a 1986 Merc 500SE. It was on its way to the scrapyard with a bent MoT but what a car.
Magnificent.
Some of the modern shite is just that. Shite. My Saabs were far better.

Lexus effect.
One Merc I could be tempted by would be a CLS500. Early one. They did a good job with that. Not too much power a much better car than the 55 or 63.

There is something to be said for a good old ordinary Ford V8 lump.
It does the job.
