And pizzas.
I can still see the little lad when urinating and have not had a heart attack so not doing too badly.

I use quite a lot of gas because of cooking pasta and grilling sausages. Oh yes and the bacon. I don't eat pasta. I do sometimes cook rice but I'll start off using water from the Russian kettle which permanently lives atop the stove, bring it to the boil in a covered saucepan then turn the gas off, leave it 15 minutes or so then bring it back to the boil, turn the gas off again and leave it another 15 minutes then bring it to near boiling once again, strain it and eat it. So I can cook rice to perfection and only use 3-4 minutes' worth of gas.

God there’s some misers on this forum. Nothing wrong with minimising use of fossil fuels.

Nothing wrong with minimising use of fossil fuels. Especially if it saves you a few Pennys. The two go hand-in-hand. But yes, I'm not minded to spend more on anything than I need to so if I can achieve the same end for a quarter of the cost then I'm all for it.

I have a rice boiler. Works the same as a kettle. Add rice. Add water. Switch on, ignore, perfect rice. Best thing the Chinese have yet invented.

Well someone obviously threw their toys out of the pram about this because I found a 4.5kg Butane calor by a Thames bin and it was full.
So I took it. don't ya know.
