I was browsing fb and saw a question on a boating group from someone asking for advice on compost toilets.
The usual answers arrived ... they're really separating toilets for the most part for folks who bag and bin which isn't actually permitted etc.
On a permanent mooring it was highlighted that true composting is entirely possible, but difficult to do constantly cruising.
All the usual stuff really.
But one answer took me back a little ... "There is absolutely no smell" ... no sense of irony or humour, just fact.
Now I know billions are spent in this country each year on assorted bathroom air freshners, sprays, tablets and assorted gizmos, and I certainly know our waste products (solids and liquids) can stink, even at home with a flushing loo.
So how the hell can there be absolutely no smell with a compost loo ?

The same as all toilets it depends on how many beers and what food Iβve eaten the night before. But itβs completely possible to have a separator toilet with very little smell.
