That is so threatening...
Kris wins this year's award for being a 'fluffy bunny'.
I reckon kris gets treated differently because he said he was going to rip someone's heart out and eat it in front of them. They may be playing him at his own game. He probably gets messages like "Dear Sir. Please insure your Boat in good time or we will send someone round to break your legs. Thank you for your attention on this matter." That would be quite threatening. Almost as threatening as ripping someone's heart out and eating it.

I was just asking if everybody else got them? The wording is of a threatening nature of the old licence or lose it mentality. Especially if you consider Ive never had an uninsured boat or an unlicensed one come to that.

Having further dug into my email archive, the email from CRT I posted appears to be the only one in this vein they have sent in ten years of my owning the Potato Boat. Maybe it's a "1 in 10" thing. What exactly did it say, can you copy and paste it here?

I can’t imagine it being much different to the highly threatening email I get from CRT whenever my insurance is running out!🙄

It is going to be funny when licence evasion gets really popular.
I've always had a bellwether habit.
Must licence the Boats !

This made me look at our CRT licensing page. It says we are insured until 28/2/2024 with Navigators and General. I can’t remember ever updating this, certainly not in the past 5 years or so, so I think CRT are just rolling it on every year. Especially since we are not insured with Navigators and General these days and haven’t been for 4 years or so.
I was going to propose that CRT only chase people for insurance if they are CCers, on some sort of premise that CCers are less responsible than home moorers, but that doesn’t fit because I seem to recall Kris saying he had a permanent mooring these days. Maybe it is something to do with rivers only vs rivers and canals? It does seem rather inconsistent.
