There's little quality in this sort of tagging, but the colours brighten a dull view. Rog Some of those pieces have merit. The thing you have to remember with true street art is that it is illegal so there is a timeframe question and likelihood of getting caught. If there is permission its a totally different story and merely a mural. Not that murals are bad they are not true street art. Murals are frequently bad. Some are appalling. I particularly despise the cat thing. But I wouldn't call it mindless vandalism.

I like proper 'subway art' its just a shame other people disrespect by tagging and putting bombs on the proper pieces. I used to do a bit of tagging I was ROC but never spoiled anyone else's pieces. I was a nuff carn writer down with CWE. CrimeWavE. Only stayed in the posse for a short time as was a bit boring compared with Boats ! I had 10 of the other members on a 15ft speedboat once nearly sunk it. Oops. Racking spray paint from Halfords was fun. This doesn't surprise me in the least. And it assures you of a place on the re-education programme.

I quite like the mural type graffiti ... these examples brighten up a dull subway at Branston. It's quality work even if not to everyone's taste. No bamboo canes needed here. Rog

I’m so glad that some of the people on here are nowhere near positions of power. I am so glad that some of the people here are nowhere near me.

Pencil sharpener blades were great.
I expect they have been banned by the safety elfins.
There is something satisfactory about sharpening one's pencil.

It’s a cormorant.

Ah yes
The common cormorant, or shag
lays eggs inside a paper bag.
The reason you will see no doubt
is to keep the lightning out.
But what these unobservant birds
have never noticed is that herds
of wandering bears may come with buns
and steal the bags to hold the crumbs.

This was the sort of 'educational material' we had in the house as kids.
And the limericks.
There was a young man from Gargrave Who kept a dead whore in a cave "I must admit, I'm a bit of a shit but think of the money I'll save"
