Big deal ... our train broke down and we had to swap to a new one at Derby on our way home.
Bloomin' BBC never did a story on that 🤣🤣

That is because you could cope without a 'wingman'...

We did well out of it actually ... it was a four carriage train with one of them first class (grrr don't get me started) and we were standing as it was full, but we swapped to a five carriage train and managed the final leg to Sheffield sat in comfort 😁

"There were no injuries and no delays in the incident,"
"The passengers on the British Airways flight were scheduled to depart to Accra, Ghana, at 12:40 BST.
British Airways said it provided an alternative aircraft for them, which was rescheduled to take off at 18:00."
OK. So thats not a delay then.
I know nothing as never use or have any desire to use aircraft of any sort but it seems off that being 5 hours later than expected is not a delay.

I think the person who wrote the story was just winging it.

Incidents like this always make me smile. As an air cadet, many years ago at RAF Gaydon (now the Motor Museum) we were in the control tower when an airman was being bollocked by the officer of the watch, for driving a Land Rover across the perimeter track in front of a Vulcan. His response was 'I'm sorry sir, I didn't see it' Similarly, when a Pan Am airliner left the peri track for the grass at Heathrow and got bogged down, the Captain of a British Airways plane pointed out to his passengers that 'The Worlds Most Experienced Airline' (Pan Am'sadvertising slogan at the time) has just had another experience !
