.... Log in on a sunny Friday afternoon to find cds and Mr Dunkley spewing their venomous bile all over the forum, just for a change.
Happy Friday, folks!

I'd almost forgotten what it was like to sit reading on the boat without the background patter of rain on the roof 😁 Rather lovely isn't it. Rog

Yes, it's been lovely to have a dry day at last. Still needed wellies for our early walk but....

21 degrees in the boat (which has been stood empty for nine days) and we haven't had to light the stove 👌😊
Lovely that it is daylight still too.

Lovely that it is daylight still too. It makes a big difference to be able to do jobs around the mooring after work. In the depths of Winter it's already dark by the time I finish work and get back here, which means everything has to be done at the weekend. At this time of year there are two or three hours of good daylight to work with in the week, which frees up a lot of the weekend for doing nothing.

I have one of those weather/temp reporters on the boat. Today it reported a smiley face for the inside conditions (needs 20 degrees and humidity below 50%) - I smiled back at the thing...

I spent the day removing the hood and side screens (Yes, I know ) and scrubbing off the winter growth and muck. The extraction plant of the Chicken Processing factory opposite the moorings is not totally effective, and handling something that spans 11ft is not a task to be taken lightly. Well scrubbed inside and out and polished with Armoural Vinyl polish took 5 1/2 hours. The sunshine helped dry off the covers but I could have done without the stiff breeze that sprang up when it was time to re-erect the edifice. Just the dodger to do now, and at 25ft continuous length, that is not a task to relish. It can be done in place, but is best removed for a good job.

The surfboard bike rack is built and tested, works fine, solid as a rock. Just need to rust proof the mild steel part of it now. I've given it 2 coats of primer. The question is, do I splash 8 quid on a can of silver spray paint or be a tight cunt and hand paint it black, with paint I already have? The rest of the rack is galvanised steel/ aluminium, it will only be on the bike when I go on surfing jaunts.

I'd go for black paint.
Look forward to seeing it 👍🏻
