When I was a young chap I used to chat to a maiden aunt of Jane's and was fascinated by her memories of horse drawn carriages, the birth of flying, the Great War , Votes for Women, WWll, telegrams and the beginnings of television.
The world seemed to have gone from zero to 100mph to her in such a short period of time, and her stories used to astound me.
Nowadays I find myself reading news stories and thinking I've taken her place, and the speed of change has moved on to Mach 2.
From the Cold War and Kennedy's assassination, to space travel and computerization , everything seems to have progressed and achieved incredible rates of change.
Far from finding this a cause for concern, it reminds me that change is a constant, and that nothing we create or believe is for ever'.
All things must pass.

Reminds me of part of a poem I wrote.
His wisdom grew he already knew that change is the constant not just for the few.

Reminds me of part of a poem I wrote. His wisdom grew he already knew that change is the constant not just for the few. You're a poet and we didn't know it. Macgonigle is worried for his title. The loser wins: The loser cried why, oh why do these things happen, time after time it always rained or a heavy frost no singing no sunshine, all joy was lost. But he didn't starve he wasn't real cross he knew he deserved all the pain and the dross. His widom shone through he already knew that change is the constant not just for the few. He bided his time and waited in line for his chance to come he will truly shine! But the chances are few they don't come around often so take them, seize them and milk them don't soften.

Thinks himself A Clever Dick But in truth, just Conceited Prick Does fascism and conceitedness go hand in hand, would you say? You know, in the way that bores are always terminally afflicted?

My thoughts were prompted having read about America's proposals to resolve the Israel /Gazza violence (hope that can work) and contemplating how Israel appear to have gone from being the 'good guys' in everyone's eyes to the 'baddies' in simplistic terms very quickly.
Followed closely by reading about the A.N.C.'s problems, where they too seem to have experienced a severe reversal in fortunes in the publics eyes.
I suppose if you hang around long enough you see everything is cyclical and change is the only constant.

Does fascism and conceitedness go hand in hand, would you say? You know, in the way that bores are always terminally afflicted? Bores? Don't they put out interminable posts with self defined words that no-one else comprehends? There isn't a single definition of a bore. I'd suggest that bores tend not to be creative though.
