stevec has left the building, with several raspberries being blown behind him but to be fair, I think several TBers were stopped in their tracks and their jaw dropped. mine did. bit of an oversight there. has that nasty hole gone away?

THANK YOU! What a great response to my post - but I am not much further forward.
Jenlyn113's says "Shame its on here - you just ain't found it" A splendid piece of absolutely useless information - But it is exactly my problem. and fails to point to a thread. But I suppose it helps to increase his post count.
Magnetman says "There have been loads of discussions" The BFG says "yes we have discussed it with pictures" - but neither points to the relevant thread.
But as Dogless says - "Most of us are boaters - we know about the breach It would be like discussing whether the canal water is wet, or Harecastle tunnel is low" - I appreciate the stoppage would be listed by C&RT but the reply suggests since all is known what's the point of forums.
Kris found it strange that I should seek the same information - Not the same Kris but the view of the "font of all wisdom" as as Jimriley said. I wanted to read the comments of experienced boaters on Thunderboat about the problems the breach has caused - are friends stuck? Opinions on alternative routes etc etc.
I thought that here we would have boaters offering opinions on the length of the stoppage, the engineering problems etc and the thread would be with a title that identified the point of the discussion for others to find and follow.
I like the discussions on Thunderboat they are not restricted by heavy censorship but to fail to find a discussion on a major event was so surprising and if its there but so well hidden that I can't find it - then others will have the same problem.
anyway cheers to you all

I agree with you Steve. I'll go and have a look now at TB's Stoppages section. (Yes, it's been put up there now. These things happen. I blame Putin. And Brexit, of course).

However, as I stated earlier, there's no reason why a member, such as yourself, cannot start a dedicated thread in the relevant sub-forum.

I struggle with your implied criticism that thunderboat does things differently.
That's how we do it, under no ones rules, instruction, or moderation.
It just evolved that way.

To be fair it is buried in the Desiree _2018 thread. Here thunderboat.boards.net/thread/3094/desiree-trip-2018-llangollen?page=18I found that by putting middlewich breach thunderboat into Google. A for engineering solutions I did bring this up but I don't think there is a wide enough user group on here to get an in depth discussion as would happen on canalworld. Its a different type of forum.

CWDF is the place to gather a group of people (with no direct skills, experience or knowledge) who will give their opinion on how to fix a breech, or indeed anything else Rog

See i like this forum as nobody pretends to know something they dont, canal world is full of the know it all brigrade who dug a hole once so can give ten pages of opinions on how to fix a breach, i know nothing about the subject so have no real interest in how they will go about it.

I'm a bit perplexed as to why stevec has taken the bother to sift through replies to criticise some responses...as others have said ...if he was so concerned about the breach then post about it..anyone can start a thread specific to a topic.....It probably won't stay on that topic as we like to meander on and off a subject but it might for a while...

My dad had a 'graveyard' for pets...Ive helped to dig holes for ducks, chickens, cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs....each grave had a tree .....there is now a small area of woodland supported by the remains of mum and dads menagerie... So show me the way..have spade..will travel
