I don't need crew but my boy wants to do the trip so it depends on when he can get a few days off work.

Just a very quick update, we are now looking at Friday 10th August for the Limehouse-Teddington trip, leaving Limehouse at 0915 so if anyone does want to come along for the ride and can make their own way there and back, or if anyone knows someone who will be in London on that day to grab some pics as we pass then let me know.

I'm working Thursday night shift and then have to look after the kids till lunchtime and then take them all camping. set everything up and them get home and go to bed ready to start at 6 am sat. would love to come but.

Studies have confirmed that leaving windlasses on lock gate balance beams is a leading cause of windlass loss. You need to mention this to your crew. And/or get them a really wicked magnet

He's done well to find one of the old ones. Although we were assured the change would be a gradual process, the donut is turning up all over. Now the new signs will look better with the mud on Rog

Great job with the sign. Rog I think it's fake, you can do anything with photoshop nowadays There's an information board at the top of Atherstone locks which was completely illegible when I saw it a couple of years back because of algae, so I stopped and gave it a good scrub-up and it looked brand new. I passed it earlier this year and it still looked brand new. I spent maybe 2-3 minutes with a scouring pad and a squirt of Fairy Liquid on it. If I am in no particular hurry I also sometimes clean and grease lock mechanisms. And I try to pick up as much litter as I can. Perhaps if everybody did this, the world would be a better place?
