I was trying to find a thread on "outraged for others" to add to ...... it took me down byways back to June 2016 and the great implosion of CWDF. It reminded me just how angry and upset I was by what I saw as the destruction of what had been generally an excellent forum by the "professionally offended for others" brigade and by the adoption of that genera as the recruitment area for new mods. However the threads all seemed to wander off down strange avenues ..... "Off Topic" seems to have been a feature of TB right from the start I think this clip of a speech by Rowan Atkinson is worth posting in a new thread

It is ironic that you were banned from Canalworld by someone who can't be bothered to display a current boating licence.

I don't understand why John was banned. Some people well yes you could argue (I wouldn't) that they are bannable but John isn't one of them.
I have put his name (JV) through the MI6 central database and apart from a couple of minor transgressions in the early 70s he is not a live security threat.
So that's not the reason.
All very concerning.
I don't think Foxy is either. In fact I firmly believe banning people from forums is very rude.

Its pretty impressive considering the general content of this forum that only two people have been banned so far.

Went over for a quick look. Comment that struck me was one of yours;
Of course it would be much better if employers had to pay a wage that one could reasonably live on. As I said, government designed in-work benefits mean that isn’t the case, hence zero hours contracts and a minimum wage you can’t live on. But of course we all like buying super cheap stuff from Amazon, having services that are dirt cheap eg phone and internet. In fact generally, you don’t hear consumers clamouring for price increases so the minimum-wage employees can be paid more. Consumers tend to head for the cheapest source of something, so the employer who pays the least wages is the successful one.
Any thoughts about how to solve the problem (if it is a problem).

I think the only reason Wanted exists is to prevent Sabcat from having a clear run in the "Biggest Twat on CWDF" competition.

No as I also said on the thread, once you’ve got to where we are, it’s hard to know how to escape. Of course the best solution would be to not have got there in the first place, but hindsight is a useless thing in this context.
