Translated: facebook is the devil. London is hell. Boats are wicked. Broadly accurate I would say If either you actually bothered to read what I said, that’s not true. Facebook, London and boats can be good or bad depending how we use them. That’s not rocket science (to steal MM’s favourite saying) Sorry I was having a giggle!

I would hope so. All I had at 7 years old was a 5ft GRP pram dinghy in our duck pond! Nice pair of 'ores with it and I like having a nice pair of 'ores about. Yes I like having some good 'ores onboard. Its good to have enough 'ores but I actually quite like standing up in the dinghy with one 'ore sculling over the stern and a pipe in my mouth looking like an old fashioned boating gentleman. Only thing missing on my boats is a rag and a stick. Maybe less worrying about canals and getting a rag and stick boat will sort out my problems.

Boats on the other hand can be nice and peaceful when moored up out in the sticks. I appreciate we are all different.

We are all different but I agree with all your points. I'm only in London as I am a responsible parent and I don't use facebook as it is too dodgy. And boats are wicked. Before I had kids I never came anywhere near London on any of my boats. Ever.

Yes a good ocean going motor sailor could solve all your problems.

I have enjoyed reading this thread .... It's good hearing people work things out so amicably Incidentally Andrew Looking like a proper old fashioned boating gentleman .... This is a gentleman called Bill .... of somewhat advanced years he runs, skippers and does a lot of the general maintenance on the keel "Comrade" Although no pipe in his mouth, I don't think I have ever met anyone who looked more like a gentleman skipper of the old school SAM_1678 by mudlarker2, on Flickr

Its okay all my boats are squatting my overpriced residential mooring. Not taking up any towpath space at all. Red pennant flying. No prisoners taken. Every man walks the plank. You think I'm joking...

Fair enough.
Bit of a nuisance though.
