I disagree. Poland has a long tradition as being a beer brewing country and is the third largest beer producer in Europe, after Germany and the UK. Obviously no-one drinks super strength lager for its palatability but Perla Mocna is at least as pleasant as Special Brew (which is to say, not very) but the strength of Special Brew has been reduced twice in recent years while the price has risen by well over the rate of inflation. French beer is shit, but then France is not a beer country. Most UK beer production, and certainly at Northampton, Magor etc is also shit. Near identical liquids pretending to be Dutch, Danish, Australian etc. Freshly chilled Spesh strait from a buffer tank is a thing of beauty - in the real world it needs to be as cold as possible, straight from the fridge, straight down your pudding chute - no messing about with luke warm cans straight from the Offy. Sadly; Due to its high abv itβs often favoured by tramps and piss heads. Served correctly itβs weak good as they say in Kettering ππ The reason why shit lager (by which I mean lager) has to be served near to freezing is to numb your taste buds. Otherwise you can taste it.

I like to be patriotic to the areas we visit and would happily stock up with beers from the West Berkshire Brewery again. I would have posted a photo but Imgur has gone wonky again.

The strength of Special Brew has been reduced in two stages to 7.5% ABV nowadays and typically costs Β£1.99 a can from the Paki shop. Perla Mocna is 7.6% and costs Β£1.25 from the Paki shop. Go figure. Tramps and pissheads - tramps and pissheads.... what do you spend the 74p difference on? a Yorkie bar? ππ»π Yebbut I typically drink two cans an evening after work so over the course of a year that's a saving of over Β£500, plus if anything Perla Mocna is a better beer than Special Brew. There are stronger Polish beers, such as Karapackie at 9% and these are the same price at the Paki shop but they are, to me anyway, less pleasant in flavour.

So it takes a thread on cheap and strong booze to find one that has largely stayed on track.

So it takes a thread on cheap and strong booze to find one that has largely stayed on track. Itβs only six pages long yet, give it time.

Iβm not fussy - Iβll drink anything tbh (well, apart from meths, rubbing alcohol; that sort of thing) good quality beer, be that ale or lager along with decent cider is something I couldnβt exclude willingly

When I used to go & buy meths for my fondue set(I know...π),I always felt I had to explain what I was buying it for ! B&Q tried to refuse to serve me meths. I had to go to the car and take my trangia stove in to prove that I needed it as fuel. So nowadays I have a laugh and always dress as trampy as I can when buying it. Still always get served.
