Jim, stop knocking for once in your life and note that in the last few days a million people in Britain have been given a vaccination shot.
More people were vaccinated in one Essex town than were vaccinated in the whole of France or the whole of Finland.
Try praising when things are done well

The world doesn’t seem to have come to a crashing holt, now we are not part of the eu. Isn’t that what the remainers claimed.

I am very curious to see at what level of vaccination are restrictions relaxed and we are permitted to take responsibility for our own, and family's health ?
It is suggested that a million have already received the vaccination.
Out of a population of 68 million, I wonder what number are particularly vulnerable by age, health or occupation ?
We're never going to reach a point at which everyone is vaccinated ... I doubt we'll even get to a point at which the majority are vaccinated as there does seem to be a lot of general opposition.
Despite the vaccination roll out, I'm still struggling to see what the 'end game' will be.
Anyone got a theory ?

with luck all the anti-vaxers will die of a new strain of Covid, the vaccinations will protect the rest and all will be peace and light again

I look forward to the day when the only vulnerable people are those who don't have a vaccination certificate, and they are all required to self-isolate indefinitely with no furlough or other support from the gubbinment.

I believe people have the right to decline the vaccination ... in the same way people choose to smoke, drink etc.
The medical arguments against smoking and drinking are strong, clear, and irrefutable, yet many choose to continue and I actually support their freedom to do so.
And in any case if you have been vaccinated (your choice) why be concerned about anyone who declines (their choice) ?

However, refusing vaccination doesn't just result in risk to the individual concerned but to many others. The only reason that diseases such as polio have virtually disappeared from this population is because of mass vaccinations. The same goes for smallpox etc etc etc ........ anyone who refuses vaccination weakens the defence of the future from such diseases.
That is the difference Rog

couldn't have put it better myself whatever happened to community responsibility and common sense? these days it's all about "my rights" and all that bollox.
how the hell do they think their "rights" were established and protected over the past millenium?
if we Brits had followed that line 80 years ago we would all be slaves working in the coal mines of the Ruhr.

I don't see a difference to be honest ... smoking and drinking have implications for all society too. How will you know who's had it and who hasn't ... who you will mix with and who not. I'm happy to have the vacc asap ... but am equally happy to go back to normal asap, once the most vulnerable have been jabbed I'm more than happy to take my chances, relying on basic hygeine etc. My concern is for the most vulnerable ... the VAST majority of us even if we get covid are unlikely to know without a test. whatever happened to community responsibility You mean like stealing tools from your employer? you have just proved your lack of intellectual athleticism by "mixing your metaphors".
when you grow up you may, just may, begin to understand the concept of community and communal responsibility ........................ but I ain't holding my breath.
